2009-11-10 14:19:17 未知

To accelerate cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, cultural relics, calligraphy and paintings are being exhibited in Beijing. The collections on display are the pride of prominent collectors from the mainland and Taiwan. The exhibits are sponsored by the Capital Museum, Taiwan Chang Foundation, and Beijing Hanhai Auction Company.

This charity exhibition features more than 70 items from the Song to the Qing Dynasty, including calligraphy, painting, porcelain and jade sculpture. Highlighting the show are a 15 meter long brushwork co-painted by Qing Dynasty painter Jin Kun and Italian Giuseppe Castiglione and a Ming Dynasty blue porcelain pot.

Taiwan provided 50 of the 70 exhibits, including nationally ranked treasures such as a Ming Dynasty porcelain vase and a pot.

Hong Sanxiong, chairman of director board, said, "The essential of the cultural relics' value is the culture, history, art and technics the exhibits convey. For us, it is not important to showcase, but to present the values."

Wen Huihua, board chairman, said, "The interactive events and the exchanges of the ideas will definitely enhance the collection industry to a higher state. It is also a good opportunity for cultural exchanges."

The exhibition runs until November 29th at the Capital Museum.
