Shanghai World Expo souvenir design contest with the theme of“China, permanent prosperous” was started on Nov. 5 in Shanghai and will last till 6:00pm on Feb.18,2010. During this time, Shanghai World Expo will collect souvenir designs in the world by the means of contest.

The committee of the contest said the contest will choose the works with Chinese culture connotation, fashion, technology and modern features as the winner. And the contest aims at conveying the concepts of Shanghai World Expo, which are understanding, communication, gathering and cooperation to the world.

The contest comprises of more than 10 groups, such as porcelain group, Chinese painting and calligraphy group. The works in the contest need to reflect Chinese cultural features and set up the image of Shanghai World Expo. Besides, the works are required to satisfy the need of manufacturing, producing and marketing on the expressing ways and technique means.

There are five prizes for every category, i.e. the most innovative prize, the best design prize, the best market potential prize, the best culture prize and the best material application prize. Ten good works prize and a comprehensive prize will be selected as well and the top one will be awarded $20.000.
