Restoration work is also going on with mural in Chile. The devastating earthquake has damaged murals painted in public buildings by Mexican artists, including one by David Alfaro Siqueiros.
At least three of the murals were damaged by the devastating February the 27th tremor.
They include "Death to the invader," painted by Siqueiros and "From Mexico to Chile" by Xavier Guerrero, at the Escuela Mexico in the city of Chillan, south of Santiago.
Guerrero's 1942 mural, at the entrance to the building, which was built following the 1939 earthquake, was the most damaged.
Siqueiros' mural, in a library where glass and books lie scattered on the floor, suffered minor damage. The library is now closed to allow restorers to assess the damage.
The murals were previously restored by specialists from the Mexico's National Institute of Bellas Artes in 2008. Experts from Mexico's National Institute of Fine Arts will arrive next week to plan the start of restoration work.
