Lhasa plans to establish more arts and cultural facilities

Some new arts and cultural facilities inclusive of a well-equipped library, an arts center and some rehearsal venues for folk art troups have been planned for construction in Lhasa, capital city of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), source from Lhasa's Bureau of Culture.
A total of 24.72 million yuan will be invested by the State for construction of a 8,000-square-meter modern library while another 29.45 million yuan for a 9,500-square-meter arts center.
Besides, a plan has also been drawn for the expansion of the original county-level multi-functional cultural center composed of a new theater, a cinema, a bookstore, a library and an intangible cultural heritage show room.
Three rehearsal venues will be built for the folk art troupes in the Damxung county, Nyemo county and Maizhokunggar county respectively covering an area of more than 300 square meters each, spokesman with Lhasa's Bureau of Culture said.
