What is image? It says in the dictionary that it is the one appeared when the light illuminates. It is natural phenomenon. However, the album -“Images of the Summer Palace” is the aggregation of the images in the Summer Palace illuminated by the light of the soul of the photographer.
　　The Summer Palace is a masterpiece of art. It embraces deep historical culture. It is the largest extant royal garden in scale preserved most intact. Since the angles of appreciation and researching are different from different people, the comments to the Summer Palace are different, too. Some say that the Summer Palace has incorporated the strong points of the royal gardens of the successive dynasties and assembled the cream of private gardens of the north and south in China, which highly embodies the standards on building gardens that “Though the gardens are built by human, they seem to build by the nature”. They are the gems of Chinese literature recording the long and pronounced history of 5 thousand years in China. Compared with the beautiful West Lake, the Summer Palace is more magnificent and has a little sorrow of having experienced many vicissitude of life. No Matter you are wandering about unhurriedly by the lake or having a rest in pavilions, you can enjoy colorful and graceful spectacles just like in South China.
