我第一次使用照相机是50年多前，那是父亲在旧货摊买来的一台英国产的箱式120照相机，是两个套在一起的木箱子，只能设定距离，但成像效果还不错。1956年，父亲从前苏联带回来一台基辅牌135相机，可以对焦，在当时是相当高级的，后来姨父又从前苏联带回来一台放大机。中学期间我开始学习照相，学习如何定光圈、距离，学习冲洗照片、放大照片，学习如何配显影液、定影液，如何曝光，如何虚化。那台基辅牌照相机一直伴随我在中学，在农村，在工厂，在大学的十多年。改革开放刚开始的1978年，父亲从日本带回来一些彩色胶卷，当时非常新奇，但是照了之后还要托人带到日本冲洗，因为当时国内还不能冲洗彩色胶卷。1986年我到加拿大工作，那时外国相机已经相当先进，我买了一台宾得135相机。2002年我买了第一台200万像素佳能数码相机，感到数码照片的方便，之后随着数码相机的升级我也不断添置新数码相机。虽然我使用照相机很早，但那时只能说是照相，只有到了2008年买了第一台佳能单反数码相机，才真正从照相转到摄影。近年来我结识了国内很多著名摄影家，不光向他们学习了许多摄影知识和经验，还学习了他们对摄影事业执著的追求，对摄影艺术孜孜的探索。几十年来我经历了从黑白照片到彩色照片，从胶片相机到数码相机，我在摄影中既感受到了技术的进步，也欣赏到了世界的精彩，更体验到了多彩的人生。

　　The first time I used a camera was already over half a century ago. It was a Box-120 camera made in the U.K. bought by my father from a second-hand store, which was made up of two closely fitted wooden boxes. The image effect of it was fine although the distance needs to be fixed. In 1956, my father brought me a Kiev 135 camera from Soviet Union. With the focusing function, it was quite advanced at that time. Later on, my uncle brought back an enlarger from Soviet Union. When I was in the high school, I began learning to take pictures, including fixing the aperture and distance, developing negatives, enlarging photos, preparing the developer and fixer as well as realizing exposure and virtual effect. The Kiev camera accompanied me for a decade that I spent in the high school, the village, the factory and the college. In 1978 when the reform and opening up of China just began, my father brought back some color films from Japan which were very novel to me. However, since the color film could not be developed domestically at that time, I had to ask someone to take the negatives to Japan for developing. When I worked in Canada in 1986, I found that cameras had been highly developed. Thus, I bought a Pentax 135 camera. The first digital camera I bought was a two-million-pixel Cannon in 2002. Benefiting from the convenience of digital photos, I constantly bought a lot of digital cameras with its upgrade. Although I had long experience of using cameras, it just meant a tool to take photos rather than for photographing to me. This truth has not changed until I bought my first digital single lens reflex camera in 2008. In recent years, I have met many famous domestic photographers, from whom, I not only learnt the knowledge and experience of photographing, but also was affected by their persistent pursuit for photographing and invigorated by their diligent exploration of photography. From black-and-white photographing to color photographing, and from film cameras to digital cameras, I have witnessed the technological progress, have visited the wonderful world, and most importantly, have experienced the colorful life for decades.
