音乐舞蹈常见于苏丹人的婚礼庆典。苏丹音乐很有特点，传统的努比亚音乐有阿拉伯语或非洲语二种唱词，婉转高亢，每一首歌都很长，一气呵成。苏丹有各种各样的乐器，以打击乐器为主，以鼓为重心。非洲鼓在非洲人中具有神般的崇高地位。另有天然果壳做成的沙玲（African Shakers）、乌德琴、乌木可拉弦琴（Ebony Cora）等。苏丹人在演唱会时喜欢把右手举过头，向着歌手打榧子或弹响指，歌手也把右手举起来打着榧子，大厅是一片右手的森林，都吧嗒吧嗒地弹着响指，声音汇集成一片。
　　苏丹人酷爱舞蹈，在求雨、婚丧、联谊、庆典等活动中都离不开舞蹈。每个部落的舞蹈都有自己的特色。希卢克人跳一种“布尔”鼓舞，舞者浓妆艳抹，脚上系铃，随着鼓点跳动。丁卡人跳一种“战斗舞”，舞者腰围兽皮或布片，手持盾牌、标枪或棍棒，眼皮涂成红白色，头上戴着插有羽毛的头冠，口中不时发出嘹亮的喊声。还有模仿各种动物动作的“加尔”舞，据说是“伦巴”舞的起源。努巴人常跳的一种舞蹈叫“康巴拉舞”，男人头上插上牛角，所以又称“牛角舞”，脚上套上铜铃，模似牛的动作，女子身裹大纱布，手持牛尾，扮演牧羊女。“颈脖舞” 或骆驼舞在苏丹十分流行，是婚礼场上必跳的舞蹈，双手伸高挥舞，脖子一曲一伸。苏丹还有世界著名的大回旋舞。苏丹的婚礼舞会非常热闹，着装也非常艳丽。新娘在婚礼上的服装可以露臂，甚至露肩，双手会被画上黑色的花纹，象征已婚和吉祥。

Music and Dance in Sudan

　　Sudanese people love music and dance, and enjoy a diversity of culture. A music concert must includesingers, dancers and instrumentalists, and finger rapping in audience. Lyrics are all important in Sudanesemusic, especially in Northern Sudan. South Sudan has rich folk music that reflect the diverse cultures ofthe region. For example,the folk music of the Dinka people include poetry, while the Azandes are knownfor story-telling that feature a good wizard figure prominently. Eastern Sudanese music shared by the Bejaand other eastern tribes, performed on oud, tambour (hand drum) and rababa (bowed lute). Traditionalinstruments include drum, tom-toms, rababas (viol-like stringed instruments with a hide-covered body),and the oud (a lute), Sudan’s "whirling dervishes" are famed throughout the world for their spell bindingdances, in which they are accompanied by rhythmic drumming, as they gradually work themselves into atrance. There are different Sudanese dance styles.
