The first-stage protection work of these rock paintings passed the examination of experts from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage on Sept. 18. Covering an area of about 15,300 square meters, the rock paintings included more than 1,900 pictures describing human beings, weapons, boats and various animals, which were painted 2,000 years ago by the ancestors of Zhuang, a major Chinese ethnic minority living primarily in the Region.
