A joint exhibition of eight Chinese artists of different ethnic minorities is being held at the fifth floor of Shin Kong Place in Beijing, offering audiences a chance to see works with minority styles including Naxi,  Inner Mongolian, Va and Xibe.

More than 80 pieces are on show, including traditional Chinese paintings and oil paintings, with some never publicly displayed before.

Each artist participating in is among the best of their ethnic groups, among which some are renowned in the Chinese art world, such as famous figure painter Zhao Qi of the Naxi ethnic group and Guan Qige of the Inner Mongolian ethnic group.

Guan's representative work is oil painting Heroic Sister on the Grassland that he created in 1964, which became known across China at the time.

Also on show is a series of works by emerging artists born in the 1970s, showcasing their personal reflections of landscapes and customs of ethnic groups today.
The exhibition runs until September 19.
