Artron: You said this is the most important painting (La Route de Verrières by Alfred Sisley) in this Art Fair.

　　Jan: Well, this is definitely one of the important paintings in this Exhibition. And I come every year to art Beijing, and every year I bring one really really important and famous painting. This year, I bring this Impressionism painting from French. It’s Alfred Sisley, he is very famous, he is a very big museum world wide and he belongs to the very famous group of artists like Monet, Renoir,Cézanne, degas. And this is wonderful landscape that he was painting in 1872 very early. He was only 32 years old. And at that time he was not very famous, but later when he was famous, the painting sold very high price. So, today, our asking price is thirteen million Renminbi.

　　Artron: Did you come to Beijing Art Fair last year?

　　Jan: Yes, I also came last year. It was a very good exhibition. We also had a nice painting by Degas which we also have sold.

　　Artron: So how much?

　　Jan: It’s over ten million Renminbi. And we enjoy this exhibition very much as professional. They have a good atmosphere, and people were very relax to see some wonderful paintings, Chinese works, European works, old or contemporary art. So it’s a very good mix of galleries and highly recommendable.

　　Artron: What’s the difference between last year and this year?

　　Jan: Well, I think the quality of visitors is becoming even better, more and more people come, but not only people the amount but also the quality of people, high classic collectors’ people who really understand art, who really can judge the difference between good paintings and not so good paintings. So for me, it’s big pleasure to come here and see how this exhibition developed from year to year, better and better.

　　Artron: And what’s your opinion about the Chinese classic art?

　　Jan: I came in 2005 for the first time to China. And I was introduced to Chinese art especially contemporary art. My focus is not only contemporary, also in classic. But the Chinese classic art I love very much, especially the traditional painting, calligraphy and old order paintings, for me it’s very very nice to look at. I already bought three paintings from the different artists and I really enjoy them very much.

　　Artron: And after this fair, what’s the expectation you hold?

　　Jan: Well, first of all, of course, I hope to sell paintings. But for me it’s also a big treat to see Chinese customers or people just look at the paintings, enjoy them, and they tell me they like it very much and they’er happy. Also this exhibition sometimes has good connections to make friends with other galleries or find people who interested to buy other paintings from me through different ways. So the expectation is very good here.
