丹顶鹤丰姿秀逸，矜持华美，特别是它们鸣叫歌唱和舞蹈时，更是精彩纷呈，深受人们喜爱。

　　丹顶鹤是天生的歌唱家。我国最早的诗集《诗经》，就用“鹤鸣九皋，声闻于天”的诗句来赞美丹顶鹤鸣叫歌声的高昂悠远。成年的丹顶鹤身长1.4—1.6米高，气管有一米多长，象一把长号，它们的歌声能传到5里之外。丹顶鹤鸣叫歌唱，都是夫妻鹤对唱。在外界刺激下，一般由雄鹤开始鸣叫歌唱，雌鹤马上跟随。雄鹤声音洪亮，为单音节， 雌鹤声音尖而短促，以不断重复的短音附和。它们头部都昂向天空，颈部用力向后弯曲，并且边走边唱，塑造出许多优美的造型来。雄鹤在鸣叫歌唱时，三级飞羽还会蓬起，随着歌唱鸣叫而不断抖动。

　　丹顶鹤还是美姿婆娑、风情万种的舞蹈家。它们能根据不同的场景、环境、心情等，欢跳出姿态各异，精美悦目的舞蹈来。尤其是热恋交配前，舞姿更是优美。丹顶鹤跳舞大都是激情昂奋，十分投入。跳舞时，舞蹈一般由几十个动作组成，跳起来一气呵成。它们不停地弯腰、上下摆头、跳动和煽动翅膀。许多时候，它们还会叼着一些草根、小树枝、土块等小东西，不停地跑来跑去，然后突然把东西抛向空中，它们也一跃而起，跳出优雅而俊美的舞姿。

　　The red-crowned crane is also a pretty and graceful dancer.They can dance in various postures in different places,settings and moods.The most beautiful dance often occurs right before they start to mate.The red-crowned crane dances enthusiastically and passionately.Their dance is often composed of dozens of movements,all form into a coherent whole.They bend the waist,shake the head,beat the wings repeatly.Many times,they also can run repeatly with holding in the mouth some grass roots,little branches,soil blocks,and throw suddenly it to airborne.They also get up with a jump and dance gracefully.
