桑火尧境象绘画沉思录

人类对宇宙的认识,总是局限或停留在人类目前所掌握的知识的层面,包括外星人的容貌,生存空间,所需物质,使用的工具等,拿人类与之类比,这显得十分幼稚可笑.一切所谓的证明都是伪证,很是荒谬.宇宙的混沌在当下是无法用言语可释清的,真实的感觉就是感觉而已,并不表示可知,错觉有时更接近真理.我的艺术就是在宇宙的现象中获取精魂,所谓宇宙的爆炸,黑洞,星际,闪电,流星雨等等,它所生发的是一种变数中的境象.包括大地,人类生命,三者又构成了天地人.这天地人又生发了星座,五行等,进入一种哲学的范畴.我的境象艺术是基于此,一切宏观与微观在此均演绎成境象.
Human beings are always restricted to knowing about the universe or just stopped at the present state, such as, the appearance of the UFO, the existence space, the substance and the tools. Everything in the universe is just compared to the counterparts of the human being’s, which sounds ridiculous. Every so-called proof is perjury. The chaos of the universe is unexplained. The sensation of reality is just a sense, not the knowability. Sometimes the illusion is much closer to the truth. I therefore achieve my art career just through grasping the spirit from the universe. The explosion of the universe, black holes, interstellar, lightning and meteor shower etc are just the variables of cosmic spirit, whichincludes earth, human and life. All these three parts compose the heaven, land and people, which create in the constellations and five elements. My conception image art is based on these phenomenons. All the macro and micro deduce the cosmic spirit.
基于宏观宇宙的思考与认识,茫茫宇宙,其组织结构丰富而充满未知,金木水火土其本质上是无形之性,其组成后的所谓的形质仅仅是我们当下的一些认知。然而金木水火土,又是宇宙万物之本源。
The boundless outer space is plentiful while unknown forever. The essences of Metal, wood, water fire and earth is immaterial. Composed of some concrete matters, they become the common knowledge of humankind, while the five elements are the source of everything.
老子的大道无形及有无之辨是艺术创造的宏丰理念,艺术进乎宗教以至哲学,这是当下艺术发展的重要之路。
“The great cosmic spirit is shapeless; the argue of to be or not to be”, these philosophy of Lao Tzu greatly illustrate the artistic creation. The art is close to religious and the philosophy, which is the key point of the art development.
滴水成洼,以至汇聚成江河大海,形成由点而积成的巨大力量,以至于浸翻巅覆一切有形之物,包括地球人类。艺术创作对重复元素的利用无疑是一种好的方式,但重要的是找到自我的具有唯美的一种元素。
Drops of water become the rivers and gradually form the sea. The great power is integrated by little things and will overturn every concrete thing, including the earth and human. It is a good way to use the repeated elements for the art creation, but the important thing is to find the only aestheticism for one’s own.
晶莹与通透是人类审美的美好记忆,艺术表现中的水墨具有此性,但创作者如何让其发挥到极致则是另一个问题。
The good memory for the aesthetics of people is pure and simplicity. Ink and wash painting has this feature, but how to exert to the perfection state is another problem for the painters.
波浪的构成,留给我们波光粼粼而又变化莫测的视觉审美效果,但它的构成不仅仅是我们所见的那么简单,这启发我艺术上的新思维。
The waves leave us the visual aesthetic effect for its glistening and unpredictability, but we know it is not that easy like we have seen which inspired me a new idea for the art.
所有有形无形的思与物,在艺术表现上都可以有点与块组成。
All the thoughts and objects can be composed by dots and blocks on the art expression.
中国传统山水包括黄宾虹山水,依然是当下中国水墨艺术的养分,我的境象绘画对中国山水进行解构,形成自我的图式与意境。
Chinese traditional landscape painting including Huang Binhong’s is still nourishing for latest Chinese ink and wash paintings. The cosmic spirit of my painting deconstructs the Chinese landscape and gradually I have formed my own painting patterns and artistic conception.
境象之要义在境,注重主观与自我,包括心境,境界等,象为心迹。它比意象更具内蕴,更为深刻,而比抽象更具哲学性, 具有理性的因子。
The main point of “Jingxiang” is the Jing, which focus on the subjective and self, including the mood and state; Xiang is the true state of one’s mind, which has more connotation and more profound than the “Yixiang”( image).
从写实中走来,但我不再做具象表现,我从写实中出走,我也是与抽象表现有别,我自有我主张:境象表现。因为我要创造只属我的艺术。
I start from the realistic painting, while I will never paint the concrete expression. Though I am away from the realistic, I am different from the abstraction. I have my own idea: Jingxiang Expression, for I will create my own art.
境乃绘画之魂。
Jing is the soul of painting.
我在公元2000年初开始对当代水墨进行梳理,提出了境象水墨一说,是具象,意象绘画后的一个新的艺术探索之路,并且不同于抽象。
I started to comb the contemporary ink and wash painting since 2000 and put forward the Jingxiang ink and wash painting. It is a new exploration for art after the concrete and image paintings, also different from the abstract painting.
我的笔犹如一把刀,我要解构事物的表象,捕捉内在的本质。
My paintbrush is like a knife. I prefer to deconstruct the image of a matter and grasp the inner essence.
我坚守架上,坚守中国画之要素,笔,水墨,纸或绢,用综合手段表现,具有审美的世界性,但又与世界上其他艺术家之艺术具有不同性。只属于我和我们这个民族的,因此也一定会更具当代性。
I insist the easel painting, insist the elements of Chinese paintings, brush, ink and wash, paper or silk. I express it with synthetic ways. I try to get to the universal aesthetic, while different from the other artists in the world. My painting is only belonging to me and our nation; therefore it must be more contemporary.
我心仪老庄,极推崇有无之辩。作品远望极简,近观极丰,在矛盾的两个端点游走。
I admire Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu and their thoughts on to be or not to be. If you look far the works, you feel it is simple; while when you approach, it becomes very rich. It is between the two edges of the contradictions.
我作画实乃参禅,重复着无尽的点或面,默念着南无阿弥陀佛,那留在纸上的印迹就是心之境。
When I am painting, I actually pursue the Zen meditation. Contemplating the namo amitfabha, repeating the endless dots and plane, finally leaving the trace on the paper is just the trace of my heart.
在中国画史中,我独崇八大朱耷,他的空让我痛快爱恨,全在其中,尘中人多莫可体悟。
In the Chinese painting history, I only admire Zhu Da( a famous painter in Ming dynasty). The emptiness of his painting is my favorite. Everything includes in it. Most people in the world can not understand.
绘画风格的唯一性,是谓大家之首要尺度。
The uniqueness of the painting style is the only measure for a master.
改变世界的是人的精神,感动人的艺术是内在之境。
The spirit of human can change the world; the art that touches people is the inner state.
艺术表现有宽度的人,其艺术才可能有深度。
If there is width, there is depth of art.
我的作品一直尚平面,尚淡雅,让视觉直入物之本真。
My works are always on the plane and look simple and elegant, and let it directly into the truth and origin of a matter.
真正的大艺术家在本质上应当接近疯子,要不何以与众不同呢?可这年头清醒的太多,迷乱的太少,迷乱的早被清醒的口水淹没了,所以也就难见到大艺者了。
The real artist is essentially close to the madman. Why they look different? It is a pity there is too many awakens, too little frenzy. The frenzy mind already overturned by the awakening, therefore it is hard to meet the real artist.
艺术家的创作环境是相对的,只要你胸中有自己,你的心不被别人所左右,这是最好的环境。当然,这是要有定力的,很难。
The creative environment for an artist is comparative. Only if you have your own idea and would not effect by others, this is the best environment. Surely, you need to be firm which is difficulty.
我们这个世界,都在传承与崇尚一种奢侈文化,这也是人性的张扬,没有什么不好。我用丝绢布面综合,创作水墨有高尚奢华之气,有视觉的炫动。
In this world, we are all inheriting and advocating a luxury culture, this is displaying the humanity, which is good. I use silk to paint, which feels noble and luxury and visual effects.
架上绘画边缘融合这无疑是艺术史发展的结果。中国水墨中的人物,山水,花鸟之分科,在创作上已显得缺乏表现的张力。
The result of art history development is the borderline blending of easel painting. Chinese ink and wash painting divides into figure, landscape and flower-and-bird, which lacks of expressionism.
艺术家要尊重自己的感受,真正的自由表达是要有勇气的,是要承受压力的。所以自古以来画家从众的多,张扬自我的少。
The artist will respect his own feeling. It needs bravery to express oneself freely and usually it is under pressure, which is the reason that there is more artists following the majority and few expressing himself.
我总是在宏观与微观这两极中寻找表现的理由,我不喜欢中庸的熟视的,那样会让艺术窒息。
I always find the reason to express in macro and micro. I do not like the moderate and familiar art that I think the art will die.
艺术在消解中最有可能产生新的可能。世界就是在毁损中建立新的秩序。
The digestion of art will probably produce new art. The world build its new order just in the damage.
观念的转变是最难的。这个世界很隋性,大家都喜欢墨守陈规。那些标新立异者便被强势者送进疯人院。
It is hard to change ideas. People are lazy and like to stick the convention. Those create something new and original will be force into the madhouse.
我们不了解宇宙,更不了解自己。人类的聪明是有限的,千万别高估了自己。我的作品因此在表达一些矇胧混沌的事物与空间,它说不清,道不尽,在我的心中,却是存在的。
We do not understand the universe, neither ourselves do. It is limit for the cleverness of human. Do not think too high of ourselves. My works express some vastness and vagueness of the matter and space. I can not tell the reason. But in my heart, there actually exist.
我们创作艺术可分为形而上,形而下,同样,鉴赏者按照文化底蕴与审美能力也是如此分层面的。对待不同的艺术,犹如用餐者,有能耐的美食家就往鲍翅馆跑,普通人只能去大众菜馆,老人们消化水平有限自然只能到市场去购买了。所以,不同层次的艺术有不同的消费群,作品就按不同品味定在不同的层次。
There divides metaphysical and explanation for my creation. As same, the appreciator also divides these two levels according the different culture background and aesthetic abilities. To treat different art is like face different diner. Rich people like the abalone and shark fin, while common people like the ordinary dish. The old people only can go to the market because their digestive level. Therefore, different art has different appreciator. The works will put in the different level according their different taste.
平淡,简远,纯粹,一直是我对艺术的追求,也是我做人做事的风格。
Plain, simple and pure, is my pursuit to art and my style.
艺术家是天赋,后天不重要,与职位更是无关。
An artist needs talents, nothing to do with the acquired, even to the post.
文化与品味无处不在,在你的言谈举止,更在你的作品中一目了然。
We can find your culture background and taste in your manners, even in your works.
只有永恒的情感,没有永恒的程式,改变才是艺术家的唯一使命。
There are only eternal feelings, no eternal pattern. To change is the only task for artists.
你的心是你的教父,大胆地前行吧。
Your heart is your godfather, just go forward.
绘画的结果给别人带来了什么并不重要,重要的是你的情感,你的思辨是否己经诠释。
It is not important of your paintings for binging something to others. The important is whether your feelings and your thoughts are interpretated.
画可以做加法,也可以做减法,这与艺术家的精神层面向一致.有修养的艺术家,怎么画都是平和淡泊,境界甚高.
You can use plus or subtraction in your painting, which is equal to the spirit level of artists. A cultured artist, no matter what he paint, his painting is simple and calm.
雅与俗,修功不到,很难自明,画者鉴者皆如此.
Elegance or worldliness, if you are not disciplined, you will not understand. Even the painters and the appreciators are the same.
心中的神仙高了,你自个儿低了.心中的神仙多了,你自个儿的东西少了.在艺术这个创造性的行当中,没有你的自性,便没有了艺术.
In the creation of art, if you do not have the confidence, there will be no arts.
