As the Chinese New Year is near the corner, the National Art Museum of China is planning to hold an exhibition of donations from the National Art Museum of China in the past five decades in a bid to present a wonderful cultural feast to the public during the Spring Festival.
The exhibition comprises a total of more than 800 artworks with a wide range of categories donated by about 88 representative artists, such as the traditional Chinese painting, the oil painting, the printmaking, the sculpture, the sketch, the comics and the folk art. The exhibits are comprehensive and attractive. As an overall representation of the collection from the National Art Museum of China for the first time, the exhibition covers the classics donated to the museum since 1961 when it was built.
Over the past fifty years, thanks to the trust and the support from the artistic circle and the public, the National Art Museum of China has accepted donations in different ways and has collected a number of artistic treasures for the nation. The exhibition is hoped to provide an opportunity for the public to appreciate the cultural fortune.
