在金鸡湖畔，有座面湖的金属雕塑巍然屹立，形若内有方孔的大银盘，经扭动后定型。园区内城市雕塑甚多，像“窗口”、“竹韵”、“竖琴”等都不难体会，但这座抽象雕塑特殊的造型，含有什么意思呢，引人猜测纷纭。

　　原来它的名称叫“圆融”，英文为Harmony，中文也可引申作“和谐”。这座雕塑要传递的信息，正是传统与现代、科技与人文的互融和共生，也蕴含了中新双方密切合作、相辅相成、相互交融的深意。这是“和谐”的雕塑语言，也是“双赢”的艺术表达。

　　圆融是一种建筑设计思想，如李公堤商业水街，让东西方风情于此融合，让欧陆建筑风格与中国古典的道桥亭台巧妙结合;又如圆融时代广场的建筑风貌，融多元于一体，合群芳于一苑，这都是圆融精神的形象体现。

　　圆融更是一种文化理念，它包含了开放融合，也包含了和谐发展，它体现了协调推进，也体现了携手共赢。它是多种色彩的优美构图，是各种弦乐的和谐交响，是百鸟宛转的阳春，是千河流注的海洋。圆融是苏州工业园区的一种文化精神，也是当前创建和谐社会不可或缺的要素。

　　正如波兰的美人鱼塑像象征了东欧古老的民间文化，金鸡湖畔的圆融雕塑演绎了东方文化的精奥。它见证了苏州工业园区开放兼融、多元互动、超越自我的成长历程。

　　There stands beside the Golden Rooster Lake a metal sculpture shaped like a twisted silver plate with a square hole in the center. The significance of many sculptures in the SIP, such as “Window”, “Flavor of Bamboos ” and “ Harp” are easy to understand, but this one seems to baffle quite many people.

　　Its name is “Harmony”, and captures the combination of traditions and modernity, sciences and humanities as well as the complementarity between China and Singapore. This is the sculptural language for harmony and artistic expression for a win-win cooperation.

　　Harmony is an architectural concept, as embodied in the Ligong Causeway, where western-style buildings are in perfect harmony with traditional Chinese chambers, pavilions and bridges. It can also be found in the buildings on the Harmony Square, cultural diversity and harmonious integration being their distinctive features.

　　Harmony is also a cultural concept, which encompasses openness, integration, concerted and win-win progress. The sculpture is a graceful design, a stringed polyphony, a spring with birds’ chirping, and an embracing sea. It is the spirit of the SIP and an inseparable element in constructing a harmonious society.

　　The sculpture of harmony symbolizes the essence of the oriental culture as the sculpture of the mermaid in Poland does the folk culture of east Europe. Meanwhile, it is a witness to the SIP’s openness, compatibility, interactive development and transcendence.
