An array of about 40 photo works from Xinhua News Agency were exhibited on Monday here in Perth in western Australia to mark the centenary of the famed 1911 Revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
The photo show, which was held in Perth Convention Center, consists of the photos of Sun's early life, the key moments of his legendary revolutionary career, repeated democratic uprisings and the following 1911 Revolution that toppled the Qing Dynasty and eventually ended China's monarchy of over 2000 years.

"The 1911 Revolution is widely regarded to have greatly freed up Chinese people's mind and accelerated social modernization," said Wang Yin'er, China's Consul-General in Perth said.
She hoped that this photo exhibition would help viewers know more about China's modern history and would contribute to Sino- Australian friendship.
The photo show was also applauded as a loved cultural exchange event.
Kevin Smith, Adjunct Associate Professor School of Communications and Arts of Edith Cowan University said that cultural events can be different and a photo exhibition is no doubt a loved one.

"Young Australians, like young people the world over, are being exposed daily to a multitude of images," Smith said, "Images are a favourite mode of communications, so photographic exhibitions that are fresh and honest, will resonate with this new audience."
"The significance of photo exhibitions is proportionate to the authenticity of the photographs, whether they are of historical importance or at the forefront of artistic development," he said.
Hundreds of audiences were attracted by the photo exhibition co- hosted by China's Consulate General in Perth and Xinhua News Agency Sydney Bureau. More events like forums and conventions will also be held by local Chinese communities this week in Perth to commemorate the 1911 Revolution.
The "Xinhua Gallery" was initiated by Xinhua in 2010 in an effort to boost China's cultural exchanges with other nations through the displaying of choice photos. The "Xinhua Gallery" had been carried out in more than 20 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America so far.
