The exhibition of 2011•Four Seasons, ink and wash—nomination exhibition of contemporary Chinese painting artist met audience from 30th Jun. to 6th Jul.2011 at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the exhibition is made possible by Century Light Art Center Beijing and Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, and the artists are nominated by the magazine Art.

The thirteen artists included in this exhibition are: Zhang Guiming(张桂铭),Zhu Zhengeng(朱振庚),Du Dakai(杜大恺), Liu Jude(刘巨德), Liu Mu(刘牧), Zhang Peicheng(张培成), Tian Liming(田黎明), Wang Yanping(王彦萍), Liu Jin’an(刘进安), Zhou Jingxin(周京新), Xu Huaxiang(徐华翔), Fang Xiang (方向), Lei Ziren(雷子人). About eighty paintings which finished recently by these artists will be displayed in the exhibition, these paintings emphasize on academic research and conveyed strong art influence, they use their distinctive art language to explain the contemporary of Chinese painting.

There is a common character of these paintings: they all focus on the Xie Yi(写意) sprit of Chinese painting,their Bimo(笔墨) language is quite skilled but they do not continue the tradition, the inherited the Chinese philosophic though of harmony between human and nature, in another they also show the humanistic care of how human and nature get along with each other. Four seasons not only refer to the nature rhythm but also the rhythm of human kind. It reflects the essence of Chinese art, and the common ideal of human society currently. Just as the remarks of critics, the brush strokes of these artists are quite special, they understand the Chinese traditional art deeply; but they also inclined to modern visual way of express, they deconstruction and reorganize brush stroke of traditional Chinese painting to highlight the personal character model of painting. Compared to the experimental Chinese ink and wash paintings, manufactured Chinese paintings, their paintings contend more culture connotation. These new ideal of Chinese ink and wash paintings will construct a new aesthetic thought.

A profound meaning of four seasons hided in notion, style, pattern, planed or unexpected, active or passive, not only for us but also the people in the future , for artists or audiences, four seasons are attractive and provided us large imaginary space.
