Early autumn in September, the weather turns cold. Art Beijing--Fine Art Fair came to the third day. In addition to the VIP Education Forum gathering with luxury automobile brand Mercedes – Benz, Thangka art works which is the first time landing in Beijing, and Wu Guanzhong’s masterpieces exhibition held by Poly Auction, and Buddhist theme painting exhibition by Council Auction, these special events were highlights in the Art Beijing 2011. Zhu Qingsheng, the chief of Beijing Visual and Image Research Center, talked about the import and value of Chinese art from seeing the Louvre. Zhu Qingsheng was born in Zhenjiang in 1957. Since June in 1990, he came to the University Of Heidelberg Institute Of Art History and studied as a doctor. And now Zhu Qingsheng is in charge of Chinese Paintings Research Centre of the Institute of Peking University.

Wu Guanzhong masterpiece exhibition was held by Poly Auction during the whole Art Beijing-Fine Art Fair. It is reported that many paintings of this great exhibition from Poly Auction are debut for these years.

Wu Guanzhong devoted to the “Sinicize oil painting and Modernize Chinese painting”, and innovated that “keep kite line”, that is “kite stands for artworks, if artwork is without soul and mind, it means nothing. It is meaningful that kite flies high without broken line. And the line stands for people’s feelings.

When it comes to exhibition held by Chinese auction house, Council Auction is another highlight. Many great paintings by masters showed in the Fine Art Fair, such as Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian, Wu Guanzhong, Wu Changshuo, and Fu Baoshi and Huang Zhou.

This year, Thangka was debut in the Fine Art Fair.

Thangka is a special painting art form in the Tibetan culture, and is also called “Tibetan encyclopedia”.
