Titian's Saint Sebastian (c.1530) appearance at Art Miami marks the first time it will be on display publicly in the United States.

Art Miami, Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair, will once again captivate the city from November 29 – December 4, 2011. As the anchor art fair to the city of Miami, the fair will return with a compelling array of modern and contemporary artwork from the 20th and 21st centuries. Art Miami will be held in a state-‐of-‐the-‐art 125,000 square foot pavilion in Midtown Miami’s burgeoning Wynwood Arts District.

With over 110 prestigious international galleries participating, Art Miami is a “can’t miss” event for collectors, curators, museum professionals and art enthusiasts to acquire some of the finest and most important works of art that the contemporary market has to offer. The fair will include modern and contemporary paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and prints from Europe, Asia, Latin America, India, the Middle East and the United States. Distinguished for its quality, depth, and diversity, Art Miami maintains a preeminent position in America’s contemporary art fair market.

“Art Miami is a fair that represents an overall cross section of what the current contemporary art market has to offer, and we provide a platform for seasoned, cutting edge and emerging galleries to showcase their artists,” said Nick Korniloff, Director of Art Miami. “Over the last four years, Art Miami has proven itself as a destination for collectors to have a first view and acquire some of the most important high quality works available in the marketplace. We continue to see collectors coming to Miami a day early to experience Art Miami’s Opening Night VIP Preview before the other art fairs open on the Beach; last year, Art Miami’s Opening Night attracted over 7,200 attendees. In addition, we saw nearly 50,000 visitors come through the fair during Art Week and we expect to exceed those numbers in 2011. We are very excited about the quality of exhibitors at this year’s fair and the diverse range of disciplines and price-points that will provide a unique opportunity for collectors to pursue their interests in both primary and secondary works of art.”

Art Miami will kick off Art Week with its opening night on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Art Miami’s highly anticipated Opening Night VIP Preview will benefit The Lotus House Women's Shelter, a quiet enclave in downtown Miami that offers a sanctuary for homeless women and infants in need. The exclusive evening offers the first opportunity for VIP collectors to acquire some of the finest pieces of modern and contemporary art while raising money for an important local cause.

This year’s roster of dealers includes 22 new galleries that have been accepted by Art Miami to exhibit at the fair. New exhibitors include ACA Galleries, Allan Stone Galleries, Catharine Clark Gallery, Fu Xin Gallery, Galerie RX, Galerie Peter Zimmermann, Man., Galleri Andersson/Sandstrom, Galleria Bianconi, JGM Galerie, Leslie Smith Gallery, Magnan Metz Gallery, Michael Schultz Gallery, Osborne Samuel, Peter Fetterman Gallery, Priveekollektie, Robert Klein Gallery, Robert Mann Gallery, Robischon Gallery, Santa Giustina SRL, Lucca, and Talento Arte/Ta Projects.

“We are excited to be a part of Art Miami for the first time this year and hope to expand our exposure with the fair's well-‐established audience,” said Dara Metz, Director of Magnan Metz Gallery based in New York. “The enthusiasm the organizers have in exploring innovative ways to showcase gallery artists outside of the booth is particularly appealing to us. We look forward to building our relationship with Art Miami and being a part of the energy it contributes to the Miami fair scene.”

Returning Art Miami exhibitors also note the fair’s positive impact on their business.

"I look forward to participating in Art Miami, as I have a diverse stable of artists and it is one of the few fairs that enables me to show contemporary and historical fine art, as well as photography, design, sculpture and decorative arts,” Barry Friedman said. “I have been consistently happy with the turnout and quality of the visitors in past editions of Art Miami."
