Chinese Embassy celebrates 62nd National Day

The Chinese Embassy in Jakarta promoted on Thursday its nation’s beautiful artistry by holding an exhibition on Chinese seal cutting and calligraphy to mark its 62nd National Day.
Hundreds of guests, including Indonesia’s Coordinating People’s Welfare Minister Agung Laksono, flocked to the National Museum in Jakarta to celebrate China’s big day and enjoy its fine art display.
Guests were greeted a wave of red decorations, from red carpets and lanterns outside the museum to a red stage inside, where a group of children dressed in traditional Indonesian costumes sang traditional Chinese songs.
The exhibition, which will last for 15 days, displays more than 150 seals personally carved by H.E Mr Li Lanqing, former vice premier of China.
The embassy also put on a lavish dinner, which added to the air of optimism reflective of the mood of a nation whose achievements has made it one of the world’s rising powers.
Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Zhang Qiyue talked about her country’s transformation from a poor agrarian country to one of the powerhouses of the world, which she said came about due to various policies.“But most importantly this success is the result of hard and strenuous work undertaken by its people,” she said.
Addressing bilateral relations between China and Indonesia, the ambassador described them as “flourishing in every field”. She predicted that the two countries’ relations would grow even stronger.
“Our relations are getting stronger day by day, and will enjoy a brighter future as they bring concrete benefits for the people from both sides, while at the same time contributing to peace and development in Asia as well as the world,” she said.Agung Laksono paid tribute to China’s impressive achievements.
