Spirit of “common people” stands for the way of Chinese to observe and feel the world and such spirit does not disappear as Chinese traditional culture fades. It is always carried on and kept in the deep heart of Chinese intellectual. He Duoling is just a Chinese artist who is local culture-oriented, absorbs western effective opinion and way and practices the spirit of “common people”. Different from western arts angle, He Duoling, in changing the trade of Chinese painting, effectively learns techniques and idea of western painting as well as especially uses Chinese local conception of beauty appreciation to change the world. Especially in works created in recent years, technique of Chinese and western symbolism is gradually disappeared; however influence from techniques and interesting of Chinese traditional painting becomes more obvious.
