1966年出生于沈阳，中国美术史硕士、文艺学博士、历史学博士后。曾任教于鲁迅美术学院、中央美术学院中国画学院，讲授中国画论、中国美术史，现为北京大学历史文化资源研究所研究员、中国艺术研究院研究生院客座教授、西安交通大学东方管理学院教授。研究范围有中国传统文化、现代国学、艺术史、美学等。主要著作有：《中国艺术美学》、《禅学与艺境》、《中国画论与中国美学》、《中国散文源流史》、《八大山人》、《石涛》等图书40余部。　　

　　Liu Mo

　　Born in 1966 in Shenyang City, Liu Mo is a master of Chinese fine arts history, holds a doctorate in literature and art, and a post-doctorate degree in history. Liu used to lecture on the theories of Chinese painting and the history of Chinese fine arts in the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and for the China Central Academy of Fine Arts School of Chinese Painting. He is currently engaged in research for the Historical Cultural Resource Research Center of Peking University, and serving as an adjunct professor for the Graduate School of Chinese National Academy of Arts, and is a professor at the School of Management for Xi’an Jiaotong University. Liu’s research scope includes Chinese traditional culture, modern sinology, the history of literature and art and aesthetics. Liu has published more than 40 books, including Chinese Art and Aesthetics, Zen and Art, Chinese Painting Theories and Chinese Aesthetics, The History of Chinese Essays, Pa Ta Shan Jen (the famous Chinese monk-painter Zhu Da) and Shi Tao (a famous Chinese painter during the Qing Dynasty).
