Suffolk, UK: The Latitude Festival has announced the shortlist of its third annual contemporary art prize, with Linder, Tom Dale, George Young, Lisa Peachey and Andy Holden making the cut. All the artists will exhibit in the woodland area of the Suffolk-based UK music festival (which has Elbow, Bon Iver and Paul Weller headlining its main stage) alongside 2011 prize winner Andy Harper. Harper won for his illuminated globe-like sculpture An Orrery For Other Worlds and has been commissioned to create a new work for this year's event. The artists were chosen by a jury of Melvin Benn, founder and creator of Latitude and managing director of Festival Republic, Ben Borthwick, CEO of Artes Mundi, Ami Jade Cadillac, managing director of Lavish Design, freelance arts critic Louise Gray, and Anne Hilde Neset, artistic director at Ny Musikk and contributing editor at The Wire. In addition to the commission to produce a work for next year's festival, the winner also receives £10,000. Outside the prize, the festival will host artist film screenings, including work by Jayne Parker, Melanie Manchot, Edwina Ashton, James Richards, Cara Tolmie and Semiconductor.
