The identity of the buyer of The Scream has been revealed, The Wall Street Journal reports. New York-based financier, who is the head of Apollo Global, paid $120m for Edvard Munch painting when it came up for auction at Sotheby's, New York in May. Blair already has an extensive art collection worth $750m, and includes drawings by Van Gogh and Raphael, watercolors by Turner and some of Picasso's cubist paintings. What Black plans to do with the painting is unclear. He sits on the boards of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, so there is the possibility that one of the two institutions could be in line for an impressive – and money spinning – lone.
