Vicky Chainey Gagnon has been named curator of the seventh edition of Québec City‘s biennial, Manifestation internationale d‘art. Director and curator at the Foreman Art Gallery of Bishop‘s University in Sherbrooke, Canada, Gagnon specializes in “citizen museology” and new forms of cultural mediation. She was awarded the Prix Relève in 2011 for her contribution to Québecois museum work. The 2014 biennial will bring together around thirty institutions and one hundred artists, and will explore the theme of resistance.
