John Loring will discuss his art-collecting philosophy and give tips on training your eye to buy art and antiques during a luncheon Jan. 14 at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County in Lake Worth.
Loring is the design director emeritus of Tiffany & Co. and the former New York bureau chief of Architectural Digest.
The luncheon, which starts at 11: 30 a.m. at 601 Lake Ave., costs $100 per person and includes valet parking and an original print by Phillip Estlund, the Palm Beach County winner of the 2012 South Florida Cultural Consortium Visual and Media Artists Fellowships.
The luncheon is the first of two in a series titled “It’s What You See.”
The second, scheduled March 25, will feature Paige Rense, editor emeritus of Architectural Digest, which she edited from 1970 to 2010. Rense also founded the cookery magazine Bon Appetit. She currently is working on a book about her late husband, abstract painter Kenneth Noland, and a book about her years with Architectural Digest.
Proceeds from the luncheons benefit programs for and about Palm Beach County artists.
