Recently, the “Top Ten Most Influential Collectors in China” Statues Creation Award unveiled the awards ceremony in Beijing. Xu Weixin is awarded the “Top Ten Classic Collectors in China” National Nomination Creation Award.

The ten oil painters receiving the national nominations for the Creation Award are: Xu Weixin, Ran Jinsong, Zhou Wu Hao Pan, Zhang Mi Quan, Wang Ke-ping, Dong Xingguang, Zhang Jishuang, Li Guohua. The ten traditional Chinese painters receiving the national nominations for the Creation Award are: Meng Xi Yuan, Yan Zheng Jiang Weimin, Zhang Wei, Zhu Yucheng, Wang Qiyin, Liu Ya Jian, Liren Yi, Li Ben Hu Xiaoxing.

Xu Weixin subsequently gave the speech on behalf of the nominated artists. He believes that the act of collecting is a matter of heritage, and that contemporary artists should learn to absorb all that the masters have taught, and continue their legacy.

The organizers of the event had painstakingly planned it such that it would make an inventory of important collectors within China. This list is the fifth of its kind, the previous four having been conducted from 2007 to 2011. The list includes the likes of Feng Jicai, Zhang Xianliang, Stanley Ho, Luo Zhewen, Ma Wei Du, Chen Dan Qing, Fan Jianchuan, Wang Gang, Chen Lihua, Fan Zeng, etc. who have had significant influence on society, and have received extensive coverage from mainstream media. Different from previous Awards, this year’s event revolved around the passing of several cultural art collectors, who have been hugely influential in China. From it, they aimed to evoke a sense of awe and nostalgia, to inspire future generations to inherit and develop the essence of classical culture.
