According to American Newspaper “World Journal”, the US Postal Service and Chinese district have worked together to create a Year of the Snake stamp, in celebration of the Lunar New Year. The stamp was simultaneously released all across the US on the 16th.

The ceremony for the issuance of these stamps was held at the Municipal building in San Francisco, hosted by Mayor Li Mengxian. In the past, newly released stamps were sold at the event. This year, only the issuance ceremony was held – there were no sale booths for the new stamps.

Nominal value of the snake stamps are placed at “Forever”, suitable for use on basic letter postal services and unaffected by any future inflationary influences. Each sheet contains 12 stamps, currently priced at $5.40. Individual stamps are sold at 45 cents each.
