Art lovers in Singapore are spoiled for choice this week. Aside from the 100-plus galleries exhibiting at Art Stage Singapore, there are dozens of cultural events nearby. Here are four to check out.

John Clang, “Being Together: Family & Portraits”: Having made his name in the United States, John Clang is one of Singapore’s most famous creative exports. This exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore features 90 of his works, all of them exploring the theme of what family connections mean in a globalized world. DiegoKoi, “Sensations”: DiegoKoi, a 23-year-old Italian artist, is known for his photorealistic pencil drawings. This showcase at the newly established Raffian Art features his most famous work: a portrait of the model Federica Ferragine that went viral. Geng Jianyi, “The Artist Researcher”: For its first big exhibition at its new location in Gillman Barracks, ShangArt is showing a retrospective of Chinese contemporary artist Geng Jianyi, including photography, a 20-channel video installation and a wood-based collage that mimics a wall chart of broadcast calisthenics. Asian modern and contemporary art auctions at Larasati: Southeast Asian auctioneer Larasati made a splash during last year’s Art Stage when it sold S$15 million at auction, drawing complaints from some gallerists that it cannibalized business from their booths. This year’s sale will include works by painter Gerard Pieter Adolfs as well as contemporary pieces like Erica Hestu Wahyuni’s riff on the Last Supper.
