Call For Enteries: The RA Summer Exhibition 2013 Submissions Close 8 March
The 245th edition of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition gets underway with the closing date for submissions rapidly approaching. The exhibition is the world’s largest open submission contemporary art show and will be continuing the tradition of showcasing work by both emerging and established artists in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, architecture and film.
Every year the Summer Exhibition attracts a diverse array of entrants with over 11,000 submissions received last year. This year’s Summer Exhibition Co-ordinators are Norman Ackroyd, Eva Jiricna and Gillian Wearing.
As in recent years the range of printmaking practices will be explored and an emphasis will be placed on works of a moderate size, which will return to their traditional home in the Small Weston Room. The common ground between photography and painting will be investigated in one of the larger galleries and the meeting points between sculpture and architecture will also be considered.
It is hoped that architects will submit pieces which will contribute to this dialogue and Eva Jiricna and Richard MacCormac are keen to receive works that express conceptual ideas, rather than more formal presentations.
How to enter the Summer Exhibition 2013
An artist may enter a maximum of two works for a handling charge of £25 per work. The Entry Form will be available in the online shop until Friday 8 March. Once purchased, it will be sent by post to the artist.
