PRISM announced the exhibition by Mario Testino. It marks the first presentation of his work at the gallery and his first gallery exhibition in the United States in seven years.

One of the most celebrated photographers in the world, Testino has attained the rare accomplishment of creating images that become as iconic as the identities and locations that populate them. This survey at PRISM presents several of his most commanding images with a large number of personal works that span his career.

In both human subjects and landscapes, Testino is able to locate and capture the performative and intimate at once. His ingenuity lies in his capacity to cement the cultural, social and commercial impulses of the moment and distill them into lustrous images.

Mario Testino (1954) was born in Lima, Peru. He has worked with the world's most enduring magazines and published 12 books, including Rio de Janeiro Testino, Kate Moss by Mario Testino, Private View and In Your Face.

In 2012, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, held an extensive survey of his works in two parts: In Your Face drew together his acclaimed editorial portraits, while British Royal Portraits demonstrates his long history with the British Royal Family as one of their preferred photographers. His work has been exhibited at Shanghai Art Museum, Palazzo Ruspoli Rome, Tim Taylor Gallery, Galleria Raucci/Santamaria and Mary Boone Gallery, New York.

Mario Testino has received numerous awards internationally for his achievements. These include the Medalha Tiradentes from the state of Rio de Janeiro and Peruʼs highest honour in 2010, the Grand Cross Order of Merit.

In July 2012 Testino established MATE, Asociación Mario Testino in Lima, Peru. MATE is a not-for-profit cultural organization that will promote and celebrate the arts of his native country and permanently host his own work.
