The term 'arthouse cinema' gets a whole new meaning with the news that cinemas in 30 countries are to screen a new documentary-based film series called Exhibition, which will focus on major art shows by presenting behind-the-scenes footage of exhibition preparations, highlights of the works on show and short biographical films about the artists. The series, presented by Tim Marlow and in association with documentary maker, Phil Grabsky, Seventh Art Productions, and distributor BY Experience, launches on 11 April with Manet: Portraying Life, about the Royal Academy of Arts exhibition. Films on the exhibitions Munch 150 and Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure follow later in the year.
