Do we really want to lower ourselves and comment on this sort of tabloid banter? Well, after several requests in my inbox, this morning, I have relented to write a short piece, covering the controversial photos which appeared in a 'News Of The World', equivalent Sunday paper.

Everyone knows that Charles Saatchi is a volatile elephant in the room.

Fact: He is an immensely private individual, who has amassed one of the great collections of contemporary art and was a trend setter in the 1980s and 90s.

Fact: At seventy he has obviously not mellowed with age.

Fact his collection of art, likely worth a 100,000,000 pounds was turned down by the country, when he desperately tried to donate it, with strings attached.

Speaking to the Evening Standard about the incident, Saatchi explained: "About a week ago, we, (Charles and Nigella) were sitting outside a restaurant (Scott's) having an intense debate about the children (Step) and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly (why?) while attempting to emphasise my point. (a pointed finger would have done) "There was no grip, it was a playful tiff (in Rugby it would mean a penalty) . "We had made up by the time we were home. The paparazzi were congregated outside our house, after the story broke yesterday morning (wonder how much they paid for it?), so I told Nigella to take the kids (hers) off till the dust settled." Lawson's spokesperson has been quoted as saying: "I can clarify that she has left the family home with her children." Scotland Yard said that officers from the Community Safety Unit are "carrying out preliminary inquiries" after the photographs appeared in the Sunday People newspaper (a quality publication!) .

A new exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea appropriately titled 'Paper' opens tomorrow. It is unlikely that Mr saatchi will be attending the opening, due to media attention overshadowing the art.
