　　John B. Turner Bio

　　约翰·特纳，1943 年出生于新西兰，现于北京居住，从事拍摄、写作，研究有关新西兰和北京的传统与当代摄影。特纳曾策划过众多展览，有《十九世纪新西兰摄影》、《三位新西兰摄影师：贝金特、柯林斯、菲尔兹》等;1974年特纳曾创立并担任《影像论坛》杂志主编。他于2007年和2010年两度拜访中国，于2011至2012年组织了山西平遥国际摄影节关于新西兰的展览项目，他曾在新西兰奥克兰大学摄影专业任教40年。自2009年，他成立自己的出版公司：特纳书籍，出版有关新西兰与中国的传统和当代摄影。同时，特纳先生也是PRIX PICTET 世界环保摄影奖的推荐委员。

　　John B. Turner was born in New Zealand in 1943 and currently lives in Beijing, where he is active as a photographer, and writer specialising in various aspects of historical and contemporary photography in New Zealand and China. He curated landmark exhibitions: Nineteenth Century New Zealand Photographs (1970) and Baigent, Collins, Fields: Three New Zealand Photographers (1973) and was the founding editor of PhotoForum magazine (1974 to the present). Turner first visited China in 2007, and in 2011 and 2012 curated exhibitions of New Zealand work for the Pingyao International Festival of Photography, Shanxi. He taught photography at the University of Auckland, NZ, for 40 years, and is currently forming his own company, to publish historical and contemporary photography of New Zealand and China.

　　WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

　　此次工作坊的主题是让参与者展示足够多的作品，以此获得反馈。同时学员拍摄作品的动机也会更明确。通过一系列的讨论，学生将学会如何用最好的方法去编辑、排序来展示自己的作品，从而达到自己最满意的效果。如果你有足够多的作品，并想做展览或出版，，我们就可以一起讨论如何用最好的方法去推广。

　　The idea is for workshop participants to show sufficient work for feedback, so their reasons for making their work becomes clear. From seeing and discussing your pictures, suggestions will be made regarding how best to edit, sequence, and present the work to your satisfaction. If you have sufficient work for an exhibition or publication (print or electronic) we can then consider how best it could be promoted.

　　- 最少带100张本人作品来展示你编辑照片时的过程(电子版)

　　- 1-2组自己最满意的作品(纸质)

　　- 1组小样

　　- 影响你摄影的作品，在杂志上、书上、报纸上等都可以。

　　- 相机。

　　Students to provide (Evidence of their work):

　　- proof sheets of at least 100 unedited images to show your work process.

　　- work prints of a set or sets of favourite images.

　　- finished prints

　　- influences: samples of books, magazine spreads, prints, or whatever, of work by any of your influences
