Li XinHui grew up in a family with great cultural taste,under the Chinese traditional teaching methods of the grandfather and the taoist "non-doing" style guidance of the father.

　　His grandfather was a traditional Chinese literati and "forced" his teachings to Li XinHui about literature,painting,and even ancient oraclebone inscriptions literature. This rigid education model,to which he sometimes resisted because it totally ignored his personal interest preferences,anyway sowed in his heart the seeds of love for art.

　　Li XinHui's father instead used for his education the taoist "non-doing" attitude. He was graduated in mechanical design but also loved literature and painting,so in his spare time often draw posters of the propaganda period,as Chairman Mao's portrait or opera posters and so on. Along with the reforms and the opening up period,Western culture philosophy and art entered in China and showed a different ideology and attitude towards life. These diversities were stimulating his sensitive nerves,raised in him a kind of desire for freedom and curiosity towards new things,then made him resign from his stable job and head North in the seek of space for artistic development.

　　In 1989 the travel towards North has changed his life. After two years of wandering,in 1991 he reached the YuanMingYuan Artists Village in Beijing,beside the ruins of the historical site of the Summer Palace,he and other artists began to build up their own artistic dream. Li XinHui was one of the first Chinese contemporary artists to get in touch with Western art. He can be considered as the precursor of the "Artists from the North".

　　His rationality deeply explored the persistence of laws and regulations,but his incessantly pursuit of freedom urged him to break the restrictions and constraints,the existing logic and institutional framework. This is both a process of building up and overturn the inner self.

　　In his artistic career over the past two decades,he always happened to achieve balance and remission after extremely crazy pursuit and sometimes painful depression . Following this spiral trajectory we can see the today's Li XinHui.

　　Li XinHui has always used a positive attitude to communicate with the outside world. During the probation of multi-cultural way of express art,he struggled to find something that can make dialogue different cultures,an element that can be used to communicate in an universal language: the star.

　　Stars not only are always changing,but are also a medium that can link voices and toughs of people form different areas,they carry the humans' universal ideals from childhood through adulthood and for Li XinHui also open himself to a deeper understanding of the journey of humanity.

　　Li XinHui really likes Wassily Kandinsky because for him he has the role of eternal mentor. During his life Kandinsky propped up a wide range of artists,discussed with them,to lead them to promote their progress in their own direction,and when they were finally able to discover this personal direction,he went out of their lives,looking for another group of artists who needed to be guided.

　　Art helps people to think and broaden their awareness,by finding a kind of way to communicate with the world. Art lets you learn more about yourself and discover how to make yourself a better person. Art has the function to purify the world and to heal the spirit". This is what Li XinHui says and is also the result of his more than 20 years' artistic experience,began in the 1991.
