2013-12-02 14:21:50 未知

From high art beach towels to a Colette drive-thru pop-up, there’s no shortage of haute shopping options during Miami Art Week. Here’s our selection of the top 10 fashion collaborations worth charging to the plastic.

1. Peter Saville Tea Towels

Since the mid-1980s, British design legend Peter Saville has been a collector of food packaging and construction markings, the latter familiar to anyone who has seen any one of Saville's iconic Factory Records sleeves. Those inspirations have now been appropriated for a series of cotton tea towels commissioned by House of Voltaire, which will have its first-ever international presentation at Miami’s NADA Art Fair. Alongside the above artist beach towels and scarves, all proceeds will go to support Studio Voltaire’s gallery and educational programming.

2. Todd James Artist Tees

The former New York City graffiti wunderkind responsible for Miley Cyrus’s twerking VMA bears has created a series of three artist tees inspired by the Standard Spa in Miami Beach’s fitness facilities. The workout wear will likely be spotted by the poolside, and will be available for purchase at ShoptheStandard.com.

3. Etnia Barcelona x Yves Klein Archives Sunglasses

The Spanish label has gained renown for being the international optical sector’s chromatic darling, so it’s no surprise they’ve dipped into the Yves Klein blue for a collection in collaboration with the artist’s Archives.

The above rectangle sunnies are just one of the collaborations being featured in the Colette Art Drive-Thru at Alchemist at the 1111 Lincoln Road Parking Garage on South Beach. This team-up between the celebrated French concept store and Miami shop will also include Nuit Blanche x Basquiat perfumed candles, a Keith Haring dog pillow, and more.

4. Tracey Emin Flip-Flops

Further on the high art beach wear tip, in celebration of the British art star’s first solo show at a U.S. museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami and Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel has commissioned Tracey Emin to design a limited edition beach towel, tee-shirt, and flip flops. The beach-ready sandals will be emblazoned with sentences from her 2004 neon sculptures, and be available in the MOCA store, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and online.

5. Yayoi Kusama Beach Towel

What’s a Miami Art Week trip without the requisite art towel? For its 2014 art towels, Art Production Fund has tapped Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and New York photographer Ryan McGinley, joining previous towel creators like Barbara Kruger, Ed Ruscha, and Yoko Ono. Kusama’s colorful, spotted towel retails for $95, and can be purchased at the Standard Spa on Miami Beach. All proceeds from the sales will support APF’s public art programs.

6. Wim Delvoye Yoga Mat

But will it have a turd motif? Who knows, but be prepared to say Namaste to limited-edition yoga mats from the aforementioned Belgian neo-conceptualist, alongside six other artists. The mats will be retailing for $90, and be available for purchase during yoga classes presented by Grey Area and lululemon at the Delano Hotel, Mondrian South Beach Hotel, and the South Beach Shore Club.

7. Doug Schwartz Skull Tablet Stand

If you’re a guest at the W South Beach Hotel & Residences, not only do you get to enjoy the hotel’s public spaces exhibition of original works by Warholand Basquait, but wyou ill also receive a complimentary skull tablet stand by emerging Detroit artist, Doug Schwartz. The hand poured resin skull-shaped stand has a flashy metallic finish, and can hold your iPad, tablet, or smartphone.

8. Italia Independent x Del Toro Chukkas

Del Toro, the Miami-based footwear brand, will be launching at an Art Basel Miami pop-up their collaboration with Fiat heir Lapo Elkann’s Italia Independent label. The above chukka — with its cobalt suede and nappa leather heel tab — definitely suggests Italians do it better.

9. Maison Martin Margiela and Atelier Swarovski “Crystalactite” Ring

On December 5, Maison Martin Margiela will be hosting a private cocktail party to launch their new “Crystalactite” collection. The Winter 2013 couture capsule — done in collaboration with Atelier Swarovski — contains five futuristic pieces that have merged crystal with matte white resin before its cut. The party will also include the unveiling of an installation by French sculptor Baptiste Debombourg.

10. Anything from the BAZAAR @ Art Basel Miami Beach

Harper’s BAZAAR will yet again be beach bound with a bricks-and-mortar pop-up of their ShopBAZAAR.com online shop at the Soho Beach House.
