From Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear to Lightning McQueen and Mader, Dory and Nemo, WALL-E and Merida, the hundreds of characters created by Pixarover the last couple of decades are the stars of “Pixar: 25 Years of Animation,” the first major temporary exhibition at Paris’s Art Ludique Le Musée.
The show, which first opened at MoMAin New York in 2006, features nearly 500 pieces, including paintings, drawings and sculptures.
“For me, this is really a spectacular exhibition, one that arouses inspiration,” Jean-Jacques Launier, President and Co-Founder, Art Ludique Le Musée told Blouin ARTINFO France. “People come with their families a lot, kids are fascinated and it really is something to see children observing paintings. If we can serve as the favorite museum of kids, I think it’s wonderful because it reconnects art with the general public.”
Art Ludique — which translates to playful art — opened its doors this past November and hails itself as the first museum dedicated to the art of the entertainment world.
“Pixar: 25 Years of Animation” is on view through March 2.
