最早熟悉许莹的名字是在上大学时看到她的一幅素描范画时，从那时我对这位学姐就是一种仰视、崇拜。时光飞逝，她的作品在积蓄与发展中给予我更大的震憾与感悟。每见她的新作都透着一种让人遐想不尽的神秘。许莹对形式有十分敏锐的感觉，她总能对周围的一切清晰地感受到特别之处，画到纸上总是有一种艺术家特有的绘画气息，一种珍贵的艺术情感。这是与生俱来的，令人钦佩的艺术禀赋。立足传统精神感悟当代生活的许莹，继承传统，大胆创新。既发挥了中国画的特征，利用线的组合排列给人以清新感，同时又广泛吸收其它艺术的表现手法，使画面具有新的中国画特征。她笔下的女孩们如她一样怡静、美丽、大方、乐观、诗意。

　　I heard the name of Xu Ying for the first time when I saw one of her sketch as template in college. Since then, I have had a sense of looking up to and worship her. Time flies, and her works in the accumulation and development give me a greater shock and feeling. See her new works each time revealing a mystery which make people endlessly think. Xu Ying has a very keen sense of form and she always can clearly feel the special about all around. What she drawn on the paper always have unique atmosphere of the artist and a precious artistic sensibility. This is an innate and admirable artistic talent. Based on the traditional spirit, apperception of contemporary life, Xu Ying inherits the tradition with bold innovation. She not only plays the features of the Chinese paintings with the use of line combination arrangement to give a fresh feeling, but also make her paintings have new features of the Chinese paintings with broad absorption of other artistic performance practices.
