　　《失地、一》是由五六十年代的废旧电影胶片剪接而成的宁静田园场面。这作品留下深深的怀旧印象的同时也和当前武汉高速城市化的图景形成巨大的反差。伴随着惆怅的音乐，拼接起来的片段组成的作品看来是一部连贯的叙事短片，但其实上演的只是一群昔日在不同时段被摄录亦互不相识的人。反映了由于都市变迁而引发出的想象和回忆的内在机制。

　　《从何说起》是WAZA小组在武汉一个电影制造厂学了一段时间之后，从收藏的中国1950年到1960年间成千上万张16毫米的电影废胶片成为他们的创作灵感。这些废胶片来自苏联、日本和中国的老电影。WAZA利用遗弃的废胶片里面的镜头来影射目前中国内地城市的尴尬处境。讽刺着这些早已“落后”的城市。一线城市(比如北京、上海、深圳和广州)与二线城市(比如，武汉)之间在经济、社会发展方面的惊人差别。怪诞的背景音乐是万杂的原创数字音乐，将作品里面的疏离感烘托出。WAZA把它们变“废”为“宝”，面对中国内地城市的残酷现实，做了深刻的思考，珍惜遗忘。

　　Post Space, I is a film production made by the abandoned footages from 1950s and 1960s. The reedited film reproduces a tranquil scene of pastoral place. And this work makes a deep impression of nostalgia on the spectators, while simultaneously it constitutes a huge contrast to the scenario of the highly developed urbanization of Wuhan. With the melancholic music, the collage made of fragmented films seems to be a coherent short narrative movie. However, it is a group of people who have not known each other pictured in the past that is on the stage, reflecting an internal mechanism of imagination and memory due to the urban change.

　　Where is Who was created by WAZA group after their study in a film factory located in Wuhan. The group got the inspiration from the collection of thousands of abandoned 16-mm outtakes. These propaganda films originated from the former Soviet, Japan and China were edited during the 1950s and 1960s. WAZA took advantage of the scenes in the waste outtakes to reflect the awkward situation suffered by some cities in Mainland China, mocking bitterly those “backward” cities. The growing disparities in economy and social development between China’s first tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou and the second tier ones (Wuhan) are quite shocking so that WAZA uses a bizarre background music (a hybrid of original digital music) to add up the sense of alienation. WAZA group turns the waste into “wealth”, facing directly the cruel reality of inland cities of China. They provide us a profound thought and teach us to cherish the lost past.

　　2002年成立于中国武汉，是一个多媒介当代艺术的平台。作品涉及领域极其广泛：从大型雕塑装置，由图片、影像、声音、新媒体等元素组合的作品到为不同地点、空间专门设计的项目。WAZA小组曾经参加过许多国内和国际展览，98利物浦国际电子艺术演奏会展出声音装置《无题》;Sonar 2004 第十一届巴塞隆纳国际声音艺术与多媒体艺术祭市区展演;CCCB声音艺术暨音乐时尚媒介研讨会举行于巴塞隆纳现代艺术中心;第37届荷兰鹿特丹国际电影节实验短片展映单元于荷兰WORM影院展出。

　　WAZA is an emerging artist collective founded in 2002. Based in Wuhan, China this collective is a platform for experimental new media art.
