Oculus (天通眼)

　　卡萝琳 • 塔培奴设计的天通眼并非在高处，与常见的在穹顶中央的天通眼不同。她设计的天通眼颠覆了建筑规则，使得观众能在开放式的空间行走，脚步踏入云端，与作品融为一体，感受一个重复着几大规则的世界：通道、开放、光线、旋转观众可以感受到天空就在身边，触手可及。天空变成地面上的扁平块状，分割、分解、碎裂，坠落在地面。高空反射到地面构成了一个蓝色的谜，蓝色世界的尽头，活跃的光线区域，划出一条条纹路，通过变幻的回旋路线，临时的迂回过道，所有这些回环的设计让观众体验到延伸的展览馆，与外界相融通。

　　通过反射，高处与低处相统一;通过玻璃窗洞的透明性，内外相容。环境限制被打破，空间视角被颠倒，塔培奴设计的天通眼让我们想到很久之前Andrea Mantegna的透视画，该画出现在意大利曼图亚(Mantoue)总督府内总督夫人的房间天花板上。与此类似，塔培奴的天通眼置于开放的空间，我们在其中行走，体会在天空行走，并不断走向天空的感觉，这就是这个天通眼能引发的感受。

　　天通眼的定义：天通眼指在穹顶上打开的空间。在钟楼放置钟的房间穹顶上，天通眼能用来悬挂钟。

　　Oculus

　　The Oculus of Carolina Tapernoux is not installed vertically in the center of a vault or a dome as usual, it operates a reversal of architectural rules that allows the viewer to walk in openness, to register its steps in the clouds, and physically assimilate a work that only repeats the world in some of its major principles: passage, opening, light, rotation...

　　Having heaven at his side and at hand, placed on the floor in flat pieces, a cut sky, broken, fragmented, descended to earth. Puzzle blue of height of reflected air, end of blue world, active light districts, to furrow, according to variable travel paths and improvised turning lanes, a dance loops, which invite the visitor to experience an environment of expanded museum which is married with outside.

　　Unification of top and bottom by reflection; incorporation from outside to inside through the transparent windows. Pushed environmental limits, inverted spatial cues, we take with this Oculus instead of putti when long ago painted by Andrea Mantegna on the ceiling of the room of Palazzo Ducale’s wife in Mantua, which is like them, arranged in the opening, and we walk in heaven and to heaven, this is the experience that this Oculus convenes.

　　Definition of Oculus: An oculus is an opening on a vault. In a vault, it can afford to mount the bells in the bell chamber of a bell tower.
