London-based Zaha Hadid Architects has won a competition for a major project—a new headquarters for Sherbank, Russia’s largest bank—in Moscow’s technology park, the Skolkovo Innovation Center, Joseph Giovannini of the New York Times reports. This is the first competition the firm has won since Hadid’s death in March.

While Hadid had started work on the project, the firm will continue to develop the design of the two-building complex for another year. The 1.6-million-square-foot venue will consist of a public building which will host galleries, restaurants, and room for events, as well as a building for researchers.

Hadid’s design director, Christos Passas, said, “Our design proposed a kind of work space ecology with a repertoire of interactive spaces for relaxation, play, reflection, meetings, isolation and group working.”

The complex will eventually accommodate the bank’s technology and marketing departments as well as a staff of 10,000 to 12,000 people. Construction is expected to take two years, and the completion date is set for 2019.
