Sign a Petition to Name NY Corner after Bill Cunningham

A petition has been created to name the corner of 57th and 5th in Manhattan the “Bill Cunningham Corner.”
The petition was created by Nick Nicholson, an art collector and Senior Vice President of the American & European Furniture & Decorative Arts division of Freeman’s auction house. It reads:
For decades, the extraordinary photographer Bill Cunningham stood on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, photographed New Yorkers, and showed us to the world on the pages of the New York Times. His unerring eye for what was fashionable, his documentation of everyday New Yorkers wearing and doing extraordinary things, and his love of our city and its people made the corner of 57th and Fifth Avenue “Bill Cunningham’s Corner” long ago.
In 2009, Bill Cunningham was named a “New York Living Landmark.” Now, more than ever, it is incumbent upon the City and the Landmarks Commission to convert this to a permanent status! Please sign this petition in order to help co-name this historic corner after this legend.
The petition was started two days ago, and, at the time of this article’s publishing, already has 2,983 supporters.
