Cotswolds-based international fine art dealers Haynes Fine Art is inaugurating its new London gallery with an exhibition of rare and unseen works by Andy Warhol from November 3 to December 7, 2016. Located at 70 Pimlico Road, on the borders of London’s Chelsea and Belgravia districts, the new gallery will focus on contemporary and modern art.

The Warhol exhibition brings together around 27 works by the Pop Art icon including rare Polaroid portraits, drawings and illustrations from the 1950s, and unique gelatin silver photos of 1980 celebrities. Many of the works have been sourced directly from the Warhol Foundation and are fresh to market, with prices starting at a very accessible £24,500.

Tony Haynes, Managing Director of Haynes Fine Art, says that he is excited to have secured this remarkable selection of works by Andy Warhol. “They offer a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Pop Art history by one of the world’s most famous artists,” says Haynes. “These are fantastic entry-level works for new collectors and rare one-off pieces for seasoned buyers.”

The selection of early drawings includes a number of decorative and whimsical original illustrations for the artist’s 1956 illustrated book of frolicking fairies and putti, “In the Bottom of my Garden,” as well as drawings executed in ink, ballpoint pen, tempera, and watercolour depicting a wide range of imagery such as flowers, footwear, fashion, footwear, abstract compositions, and female figures.

Highlights of the photographic works include Debbie Harry at the peak of her Blondie fame, Simon Le Bon in 1982 when Duran Duran was dominating the charts, Sylvester Stallone posing in a pair of speedos swimwear, as well as images of a number of other famous 1980s personalities including the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Don King, and The Jacksons.
