Exhibition of Wen Wei's Calligraphy & Painting Kicked off in Hangzhou

The exhibition tour of Wen Wei's Calligraphy & Painting, hosted by the Institute for the Study of Paintings and Calligraphy of Palace Museum, kicked off on Nov.19 at Hangzhou Gongwang Art Gallery.
The exhibits of Wen Wei's calligraphy and painting artworks have toured Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, and other cities since 2014. More than 60 artworks of Wen Wei will be displayed in the Hangzhou exhibition which runs through Nov.30.
Wen Wei, a Chengdu-born contemporary female painter, is the Secretary-General of the Institute for the Study of Paintings and Calligraphy of Palace Museum. She was tutored by Cui Ruzhuo, the renowned master of calligraphy and painting and is an accomplished painter in the freehand landscape as well as the portrait of ladies and calligraphy.
Wen Wei embarked on a journey to Fuchun River of Fuyang District in Hangzhou and drew a 12-meter long and 4-meter high painting called the "New Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" for more than two months to pay tribute to Huang Gongwang(1269-1354), a highly acclaimed Chinese painter in the Yuan Dynasty.
