砖红土壤：采自湛江雷州半岛雷州半岛如果没有植被，它就是一个红色的半岛，因其易溶性强，大量无机养分流失，而铁、铝残留，形成砖红色土壤。其肥力差，呈酸性或强酸性。适宜种植阔叶林类如橡胶、香蕉、菠萝、花生、良姜等农作物。

　　旱作黄土壤：采自梅州大埔梅州、韶关等粤北地区的土壤是红壤土系，呈酸性，土质较贫，适宜种植旱地作物如玉米、红薯、甘蔗及果树，亦可种植水稻。

　　红土壤：采自龙川县车田镇粤北地区基本是红壤土质，与黄土壤地区相邻，呈红黄色，土质较贫，适宜种植经济林木以及果树、玉米、花生，亦可种植水稻。

　　水稻土：采自开平赤坎镇水稻土壤分布于珠三角及沿海地区，呈灰赭色，土质肥力中等，适宜种植水稻、香蕉、花木、果树等。

　　黄壤：采自潮州凤凰山下 黄壤地区土质呈酸性，分布于沿海内陆地区，地力为中下水平，一般适宜旱作物种植用地，如茶叶、果树、林木、花木等。
