蔡万霖先生，在我的认知里是中国著名的收藏家，我在欧洲生活了廿多年了，了解国内首幅 过亿的画，就是他收的，去年十月有幸在北京看到他的个展，完全颠覆了我的想象。其实了解他 的人都知道，他是企业家、收藏家和诗人，一路走来从没有离开过艺术。

　　西方现代主义艺术，数量繁多的流派，几乎遍及艺术的各个种类和裁体，形式上大多标新立 异，追求艺术形式和表现手法的创新。

　　蔡万霖的作品很“质朴”，释 义；朴实、不骄饰；为人忠厚。事实上这也是艺术家创造当下的 状态和站位。而其中的重要性从因果而不是功效性上讲，远比一个作家精神跋涉的作品语言与形 式更值得关注和思考。艺术家所创作呈现 的“yy”形象，无中生有，是虚拟和抽象的，以独特的艺 术形象语言，在不同的情景模式下，体现和表达了作者的精神兴趣和人文关怀，作品有血有肉、 有内涵，正所谓文如其人，说万霖作品很质朴、很本质，換个说法也许更简单，在惯于并陶醉于 自我想象，在不 断的确定和否定中，逐渐形成所呈现的“yy”形象，追求独一无二， 以艺术的形 式，与灵魂对话，自我叩问， 我从哪里来？ 我将到哪里去？ 熟悉他的人都知道，他多年来坚持 修行，这种质朴道化，心物归一的重要特质，因其澈如清漪、真水无香，且表里互化。从而作品 从形识与色彩、 物理与心理、带有隐喻意味。 显现出一种独特奇幻和迷离，凭借其本质的穿透 力，用“二 维” 的手法释放和分享给大家， 他在探索人们想象力和创造的无限可能性方面，大胆的 运用于作品当中，通过创造强调自身的价值，表现作者的主观心灵。正如他本人在《创作随想》 里谈及“对艺术追求，贯穿 我的生活和工作中，不管所从事的工作如何转化，艺术始终永远如影 随形”。他的“yy”作品 同时也引起了欧洲某当代艺术 基金会的共鸣。

　　廿一世纪、日新月异、科技进步、讯息万变，艺术来源于 生活，艺术家创作的“yy”充满 智慧 与快乐， 记录下时代的印 记，细细品来、回味无穷。祝 愿我们的时代进步、让艺术家通过这独 特的语言给我们留下美好的回忆，祝福“yy”。

　　The World of yy

　　Mr. Cai Wanlin， in my knowledge， is a famous collector in China. I have lived in Europe for more than 20 years. As far as I know， the first domestic painting with an auction price of over 100 million RMB was collected by him. Last October， I was fortunate to see his solo exhibition in Beijing， which completely subverted my imagination. In fact， everyone who knows him is clear about his experience as an entrepreneur， collector and poet， but he has never left art along the way.

　　Western modernist art has a large number of genres， covering almost all types and styles of art. Most of these genres are unconventional in form， pursuing innovation in art forms and expression methods.

　　Cai Wanlin‘s works are very “simple”. In other words， they are modest， not arrogant， and sincere. In fact， this is also the current state and position of the artist’s creation. In terms of causality rather than efficacy， the importance of this state is far more worthy of attention and consideration than the language and form of a writer‘s spiritual trek. As an artist， the yy image created and presented by Cai Wanlin is virtual and abstract. It embodies and expresses the author’s spiritual interest and humanistic care in a unique artistic language under different scenarios. The work has flesh and blood and rich connotations. As the old saying goes， “writing mirrors the writer”. It might be easier to say that Wanlin‘s works are simple and essential. He is accustomed to and fascinated by self-imagining， and gradually forms the yy image presented after constant determination and denial. He pursues uniqueness in the form of art. He talks to the soul and asks himself， “Where do I come from？ Where am I going？” Anyone who knows him knows that he has been practicing for many years. This important feature of simplicity and morality， the unity of mind and matter， is as clear as a ripple. Pure water has no fragrance. The exterior and interior of the artist are mutually integrated. Therefore， his works are metaphorical in terms of form and color， as well as physics and psychology. His works show a unique fantasy and imagination. With its essential penetrating power， it is released and shared with everyone in a “two-dimensional” approach. He explored people’s imagination and the infinite possibilities of creation， and then boldly used them in his works. He emphasizes his own value through creation and expresses his own mind. As he said in “Thoughts on Creation”， “The pursuit of art runs through my life and work. No matter how the work I am engaged in is transformed， art will always follow me.” His yy works also resonated with a European contemporary art foundation.

　　In the 21st century， with each passing day， science and technology progress， and information is constantly changing. Art comes from life， and yy created by Cai Wanlin is full of wisdom and happiness， recording the imprint of the times. I did enjoy seeing his works， which inspired me. I wish our time progress， so that the artist can leave us more beautiful memories through this unique language. I express my best wishes to yy.
