　　How I read Cai Wanlin‘s yyds

　　Cai Wanlin is an artist with a unique personality. The yyds he creates is constantly asking questions to the universe and seems to be constantly offering answers. Generally speaking， art soothes people’s heart. Of course， it also hits people‘s heart from time to time. Cai Wanlin’s yyds is soothing and hitting people‘s heart at the same time. Gorky once said： “Art is a sweet coat wrapped in a bitter medicine. The coating is sweet in the mouth but only the medicine that is bitter in the stomach can cure diseases.” Cai Wanlin’s paintings have childish formal language and humor. It looks adorable at first glance. He is looking at you with wide eyes， asking you questions， and waiting for your answers. What is he asking？ How do you answer him？

　　An artist who can create this kind of painting must have a childlike innocence and puerility， and must have insights into life and the world at the same time. The combination of a “playing” mentality and deep thinking can give such a seemingly simple image an inherent strength.
