NUOVO Lab & Gallery荣幸地宣布将于9月3日下午三点,在王府井空间推出艺术家徐静的个展“来自微小的尘埃”。展览展出艺术家创作的作品18张。

本次展览的徐静作品主要分为两个系列,一个是偏重于空间的抽象几何形体的抽象系列,另一个则是同音乐性相关的古琴系列,在这两个系列中都可以看到徐静作为一个执着于艺术与材料相结合的优秀艺术家的语言探索。

徐静,《平衡》系列5

       王春辰曾评价徐静的作品,“徐静有沉静之志,去浮泛表象,以物降物,以物见性。当代绘画本已杂多,能凸显我之面貌难之又难,徐静沉稳,细心钩索,日复一日磨砺画面,于万般绘画丛林中取我之构造,其形相非所见之形相,乃性命之沉淀,独树一帜。”徐静的工作是单调、重复的,她的每一件作品都需要上百次的上色,巨大的工作量让她的作品凝聚了时间的美感。她的作品以抽象的形式出现,从画面的空间中,色彩的关系和结构的状态出发,营造出一个隐约透露出孤独、禅意的平行世界。画中世界充满了色彩之间的纠葛,和材料本身所赋予的多重意义,赋予了绘画无限的可能。

       来自微小的尘埃,这是一个隐去了主语的短句,那究竟是什么样的主体来自于尘埃呢?

       徐静的创作所使用的颜料都是矿物质颜料,这些颜料本身都来自于天然矿石,在变成颜料的过程中,这些矿石最终都要研磨成粉,这些颜料的粉末即是尘埃,是充满了色彩的尘埃。在中国古代神话中,女娲造人使用了尘土,在西方的圣经中也说,“尘归尘,土归土,让往生者安宁”,意思就是说神用尘土创造了人,而人一旦死去,最终也将变成尘土。所以来自于尘埃的,既有人类所创造出来的艺术,也有人类本身,这是循环往复的命运,但也正是在这种命运的轮回中,我们最终获得了觉悟与超脱。

徐静,《零的向度》

       在抽象的系列作品中,徐静历经了几个不同的阶段,最早这个系列的作品是对一个箱子形状的抽离,在箱子被打开了盖子之后,外侧大都是质朴的颜色,而内部则是金碧辉煌的金箔,这是一种隐喻,也是一种人生的态度。在之后的作品中,徐静将这个箱子内部,视觉可以观察到的这个棱形进行了截取,让其在更广阔的背景中,这个阶段的作品普遍体现了一种所有人与生俱来的孤独感和疏离感。而在近年的创作中,徐静又在作品的呈现中,增加了禅的意境和物性,让绘画进入了更为广阔的场域之中。而近期在之前以黑白为主的色系中,徐静又增加了新的矿物质的颜料,让色彩主导了绘画的发展,再次深化了艺术家本人独到的艺术语言。本次展览我们选择呈现出这样一条完整清晰的脉络,将徐静在这个系列中各个阶段的代表作予以呈现,

       除了最主要的菱形抽象作品之外,徐静的职业生涯中还陆续有一些其他系列的作品贯穿其中,古琴系列便是这之中一个有特点的系列作品,选择这个主题进行创作,主要有几个原因,首先徐静自己苦学古琴多年,对古琴有深刻的理解,再者徐静也是一名古琴收藏者,她收藏了数量不小的古琴。对徐静而言,古琴的器型让其沉迷,在这个基础上,徐静决定将古琴作为作品描绘的对象,并在作品中尝试对古琴的音乐性进行绘画的再现。评论家王端廷认为:“徐静试图在材料和形式之间,找到一种平衡,或者说她兼有形式探索和材料探索的双重努力。同时,她也是少有的有着强烈理性精神的艺术家。”

       徐静个展“来自微小的尘埃”将于9月3日开幕,届时邀请各位新老藏家来到NUOVO Lab & Gallery王府井空间,同艺术家一起重新理解时间和物性的含义。

       The works of Xu Jing in this exhibition are mainly divided into two series, one is the abstract series that focuses on geometric forms in space, and the other is the Guqin series related to musicality. In both series, you can see Xu Jing's language exploration as an excellent artist who is dedicated to combining art and materials.Xu Jing's work is monotonous and repetitive, with each of her works requiring hundreds of colors. The huge workload has condensed the beauty of time into her works. Her works appear in abstract form, starting from the spatial relationships of colors and structural states in the screen, creating a parallel world that vaguely reveals loneliness and Zen. The world in the painting is full of entanglements between colors and the multiple meanings bestowed by the materials themselves, giving painting infinite possibilities.

       From the tiny dust, this is a short sentence with a hidden subject. So what kind of subject comes from the dust?The pigments used in Xu Jing's creation are all mineral pigments, which themselves come from natural minerals. During the process of becoming pigments, these minerals eventually need to be ground into powder. The powder of these pigments is dust, which is full of color. In ancient Chinese mythology, Nu Wa used dust to create human beings. In the Western Bible, it is also said that "dust returns to dust, and dust returns to earth, making the dead peaceful", which means that God created people with dust, and once people die, they will eventually become dust. So, from the dust, there is both art created by humans and humanity itself. This is a cyclical fate, but it is also in this cycle of fate that we ultimately achieve enlightenment and detachment.In the abstract series of works, Xu Jing went through several different stages. The earliest work in this series was the extraction of the shape of a box. After the box was opened, the outer side was mostly plain colors, while the inner side was magnificent gold foil. This is a metaphor and also an attitude towards life. In subsequent works, Xu Jing intercepted the visible prism inside the box, allowing it to reflect a sense of inherent loneliness and alienation in a broader background. In recent years, Xu Jing has added the artistic conception and materiality of Zen to the presentation of her works, allowing painting to enter a broader field. Recently, in the previously predominantly black and white color scheme, Xu Jing has added new mineral pigments, allowing colors to dominate the development of painting and once again deepening the artist's unique artistic language. We have chosen to present a complete and clear framework for this exhibition, presenting Xu Jing's representative works at various stages of this series.

       In addition to her main diamond shaped abstract works, Xu Jing's career has also included other series of works. The Guqin series is one of the distinctive works in this series. There are several reasons for choosing this theme for creation. Firstly, Xu Jing has been studying Guqin for many years and has a deep understanding of it. Furthermore, Xu Jing is also a Guqin collector, who collects a large number of Guqin. For Xu Jing, the shape of the guqin made him addicted. Based on this, Xu Jing decided to use the guqin as the object of his work and attempted to reproduce its musical nature through painting in his works. Commentator Wang Duanting believes that "Xu Jing attempts to find a balance between material and form, or rather, she combines the dual efforts of form exploration and material exploration. At the same time, she is also one of the few artists with a strong rational spirit"

Personal introduction

Xu Jing1976. Born in Beijing.

In 2002, graduated from the College of Fine Arts, Capital Normal University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

In 2010, graduated from the Comprehensive Painting Research Workshop at the Institute of Plastic Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts.

In 2016, graduated from the Chinese Rock-Color Painting Creation Research and Advanced Study Class at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

2023. Now lives and works in Beijing, teaching at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
