Reflections on Modern Education from the Works of "Childhood — Wu Liangyan Solo Exhibition"

At the beginning of the Spring in the Year of Jiachen, we joined hands with domestic sculpture artist Wu Liangyan, to hold a "Childhood -Wu Liangyan Solo Exhibition" in the Ginkgo Pavilion of the Di Yuan Art Gallery. With his unique sculpture works and on-the-spot devices, such as red scarf, big-faced doll and other symbolic symbols, the artist evokes our precious memories of childhood in our hearts. However, when we probe into these works, we will find that they are not only a simple replica of childhood, but also a glimpse of some characteristics and enlightenment of modern education.

Wu Liangyan's sculpture is like a window of time, bringing us back to that innocent childhood. The red scarf, the brightly colored symbol that once fluttered on our chests, carries the ideals and beliefs of our youth. It represents a collective sense of belonging and honor, allowing us to find our own place in the times of our childhood, and learn to unite and collaborate. This is just like the emphasis on the cultivation of team spirit in modern education. Through various collective activities, children can understand the power of cooperation and play their role in the group, while respecting the contribution of others.

Those big-faced children, with innocence revealed in their round and cute images. Their presence reminds us of the carefree childhood, the wonderful days of curiosity and search for the world. It also reminds us that we should not put too much pressure on children too early, but rather protect their curiosity and encourage them to try and explore. It is only in a relaxed and free educational environment that children can bring their imagination and creativity into full play, like these big-faced children, to show their true self.

From Wu Liangyan's works, we can also see the attention of modern education to the cultivation of personality. Despite each sculpture has the common characteristics of childhood; it has its own unique expression and gesture. This is exactly like what modern education advocates, that is, on top of fostering the commonalities of students, it is more important to respect the individual differences of each child. Education should not be uniform, but be taught in accordance with the aptitude according to each child's characteristics and interests, guide them to a path suitable for them, so that they can bloom their own unique glory in the future life.

At the same time, these sculptures also allow us to reflect on the possible problems in modern education. In the process of pursuing knowledge and skills, do we sometimes ignore the emotional needs of children? Do we over-emphasize competition and forget the simple happiness of childhood? We should learn from these works and reexamine the essence of education, not only to impart knowledge, but also to cultivate healthy personality and rich inner world.

Wu Liangyan's work is like a mirror reflecting our childhood and the aspects of modern education. It allows us to appreciate the beauty of art and at the same time to think deeply about the significance and value of education. With memories of our childhood and expectations for the future, let us endeavor to build a modern education system that is more complete and more in line with our children's needs for growth, so that every child can have a childhood full of sunshine and laughter, and lay a solid foundation for their future.

Let us cherish the enlightenment these works bring and the true expression of the artist's heart and keep moving forward on the road of education to create a better tomorrow for children. Because childhood is the starting point of life, and education is the beacon leading them to a better future.
