Gaoka Art Space is honored to announce that it will launch artist Lan Zhenghui's latest solo exhibition "The Ink of Life" on October 27, 2024. The opening event will begin at 3:00 p.m. This exhibition is curated by Gao Yaoxing and focuses on more than 20 works created by artists in recent years. The exhibition period will last until November 26. The album of the same name " LAN ZHENGUI AT GOCA SPACE IN CANADA Lan Zhenghui AT GOCA Space in Canada" was also officially published in the United States and is available on Amazon.

高卡艺术空间荣幸宣布将于 2024 年 10 月 27 日推出艺术家蓝正辉「生命之墨」个展。开 幕活动将于下午 3:00 开始。本次展览由高耀星担任策展人，集中呈现艺术家近几年来 创 作的 20 余件作品，展期将持续至 11 月 26 日。同名画册《LAN ZHENGHUI AT GOCA SPACE IN CANADA 蓝正辉在加拿大GOCA空间现场》也在美国正式出版，亚马逊上有售。

Exhibi^on Preface

As one of the most influen^al contemporary Chinese ink ar^sts, ZhengHui Lan has established a cornerstone for the Structural Expression of "Heavy-Ink-Wash" with his unique large-scale paper pain^ng style. His ar^s^c pursuit focuses on the explora^on of a universal aesthe^c structure that draws from the fusion of mul^cultural integra^on. His works are treasured by important museums, galleries, and private collectors around the world.

Structural Expression is the essence of ZhengHui Lan 's Heavy-Ink-Wash, and life consciousness is another important spiritual core of his work.

What exactly is the essen^al role of art? It is this ques^on that has permeated ZhengHui Lan's lifelong pursuit of crea^ve explora^on. In ZhengHui Lan's view, good art should not be constrained by external expecta^ons. Society should not demand what ar^sts focus on, cri^que, or praise certain things, because this would lead ar^sts to func^onal expression, hindering their

pure ar^s^c expression. In ZhengHui Lan's eyes, art is to show the value and significance of life itself.

As ZhengHui Lan said, the fundamental task of an ar^st is to present his inner mental sensi^vity through a paintbrush to present a new life on paper. For ar^sts, the most profound and fulfilling experience of existence is their inner spirit. All of their crea^vity and originality are built upon this sensi^vity. The ar^st's task is to express this sensi^vity in their works, to present to the audience the richness, delicacy, or profound heaviness contained in the snippets of life; this is the crea^ve power of art.

In a society where prac^cality reigns supreme when ar^sts s^ll choose to create art with their own lives and souls to fulfill a deep-seated mission and sense of pride, perhaps that is where the true value of art lies. As ZhengHui Lan puts it: "Art is the ink of life."

展览前言

作为中国当代最具影响力的水墨艺术家之一，蓝正辉以其独特的大尺幅纸本绘画⻛格为 “重水墨”的结构表现奠定了基石。他的艺术追求集中于探索多元文化融合的普遍审美结 构。他的作品受到世界各地重要博物馆、画廊和私人收藏家的珍藏。

结构表现是蓝正辉重水墨的精髓，而生命意识则是其作品的又一重要精神内核。艺术的本质作用到底是什么?正是这个问题贯穿了蓝正辉一生对创作探索的追求。在蓝正辉看来，好的艺术不应该受到外界期望的束缚。社会不应该要求艺术家关注什么、批评什么、赞扬什么，因为这会导致艺术家的功能性表达，阻碍他们纯粹的艺术表达。在蓝正辉眼中，艺术就是展现生命本身的价值和意义。

正如蓝正辉所说，艺术家的根本任务是通过画笔呈现内心的心灵感受，在纸上呈现新的生命。对于艺术家来说，最深刻、最充实的存在体验就是他们的内在精神。他们所有的创造力和原创性都建立在这种敏感性之上。艺术家的任务就是在作品中表达这种敏感，向观众呈现生活片段中所蕴含的丰富、细腻或深沉的厚重;这就是艺术的创造力。

在实用至上的社会里，艺术家仍然选择用自己的生命和灵魂来创作艺术，以完成一种根深 蒂固的使命和自豪感，或许这才是艺术真正的价值所在。正如蓝正辉所说:“艺术是生命 之墨”。
