前言

Perface

香港中文大学（深圳）可谓是星光璀璨，甫得徐扬生校长慧眼识珠，迎来了“山川卧游——贺海锋、张利勇双个展”揭幕。

缘起于央美，早在十几年前，我就结识了质朴上进的海锋和利勇，那时候他们沉醉于求知和探索的学子形象，犹在眼前。而如今，都已成为知名国画家，画作丰韵，感人至深。虽说顺理成章，却是百炼成钢。

贺海锋，1982年出生于湖南耒阳，2010年中央美术学院中国画学院山水专业本科毕业，获学士学位，师从陈平教授、崔晓东教授、丘挺教授。2016年中央美术学院硕士研究生毕业，获硕士学位，导师陈平教授。2020年中央美术学院研究生院博士研究生毕业，获博士学位，导师陈平教授、殷双喜教授。

张利勇，1983年生于山东聊城。2010年，中央美术学院中国画学院山水专业毕业，获文学学士学位。2015年，中央美术学院中国画山水专业硕士研究生毕业，获文学硕士学位。2018年，中央美术学院博士研究生毕业，导师陈平教授。海锋、利勇勤学苦练，不负韶华，同门同窗，又不同凡响。海锋以苦作舟，以勤为径，是一位从传统绘画坚决打进去，又勇敢走出来的艺术家，功力深厚。海锋读博时，专门深入研究过潇湘山水，学术成果丰硕。海锋善于从研究、实践，再研究、再实践的过程中，反复思考、归纳、总结，去寻找破解传统绘画问题之法，终于有了自己独特的面貌、图式和语言，别具一格，独树一帜，具有非常高的辨识度。其对创作题材和内容的关注，亦越来越广泛。眼下所呈现出来的作品，内涵丰富，清新脱俗，已获得众多名家和艺术爱好者的认可和赞誉。

利勇勤字当头，功底扎实，在央美读博时，对中国绘画史中米氏云山作了深入的研究，颇有建树。以此为切入点，推动了他的创作实践。利勇深得米家山水用笔用墨的精髓，又在此基础上，创造性地运用手中笔墨，随机应变，格物致知，自由无碍地实现了神与物游。从现有的作品来看，利勇虽出身于北方，而利勇笔下的“江南山水”，山石湖水，亭台楼阁，树木植被，墨色苍润，烟雨朦胧，雅致自华，独具特色，让人爱不释手。海锋、利勇比肩而立，相伴同行，必将进一步勇攀新的艺术高峰。是为序。

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) is a shining university, President Yangsheng XU has a keen eye for talent. “Traveling in Mountains and Rivers—HE Haifeng and ZHANG Liyong Double Solo Exhibition” opened under this circumstance.

As early as several decades ago, I knew the simple and progressive HE Haifeng and ZHANG Liyong. At that time, they were still students who were addicted to academic exploration. And now, they have become well-known Chinese painters. It is no doubt that they became mature after experiencing a lot of difficulties.

HE Haifeng was born in 1982, in Leiyang, Hunan Province. In 2010, he obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), majoring in Chinese landscape painting, studying under professors CHEN Ping, CUI Xiaodong and QIU Ting. In 2016, he obtained his master’s degree from CAFA, studying under Professor CHEN Ping. In 2020, he obtained his doctoral degree from CAFA under Professors CHEN Ping and YIN Shuangxi. 

ZHANG Liyong was born in 1983, in Liaocheng, Shandong Province. In 2010, he earned his bachelor’s degree from CAFA, also majoring in Chinese Landscape Painting. He continued studying Chinese Landscape Painting and received his master’s and doctor’s degree in 2015 and 2018 respectively under Professor CHEN Ping. 

HE Haifeng and ZHANG Liyong were classmates during their student years, they both studied hard and cherished time, but their works have their own different styles. Diligence is HE Haifeng’s character. He is an artist who resolutely immersed himself in traditional painting and then courageously emerged with his own art style. He deeply researched “Xiaoxiang landscapes” and made a lot of academic achievements during his doctoral studies. In his process from practice to research and back to practice, HE Haifeng tries to find his own way to respond to the issues of traditional painting. Finally, he formed his own art style, and this style has a highly visual identification. His works are more and more comprehensive in the subject matter and content. Now, his works are rich in connotation, fresh and free from secular, and have been recognized and praised by many famous artists and art lovers.

ZHANG Liyong is also a hard-working artist. He has great skill in painting. During his doctoral period, he did in-depth research about “Mi-style Shanshui” and has his own academic achievement. Based on this, he promoted his art practice. ZHANG Liyong has a deep understanding of the essence of “Mi-style Shanshui” and creatively uses this painting feature in his own works. In his works, the painting skill helps him to achieve the spiritual travel. Based on his current works, although ZHANG Liyong was born in the north but the Jiangnan landscape—rocks, lakes, pavilions, terraces, pagodas, trees and vegetation in his works give people a unique visual charm that is vibrant, smooth, misty and elegant. The visual feature in his works is impressive.  

HE Haifeng and ZHANG Liyong stand together, poised to bravely reach new artistic heights.

About the Artist

贺海锋 HE Haifeng

贺海锋，1982年出生于湖南耒阳，2010年毕业于中央美术学院中国画学院山水专业。2016年毕业于中央美术学院获艺术硕士学位。2020年毕业于中央美术学院获博士学位。2023年作品《迷城之二》荣获广东省第八届中国画作品展金奖。作品被广东美术馆、深圳美术馆、福建省美术馆、岭南美术馆、衡阳美术馆收藏，被靳尚谊艺术基金会等多个艺术机构收藏。

HE Haifeng was born in 1982 in Leiyang, Hunan. In 2010, he graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Landscape Painting. He later earned a master’s degree and a doctorate from the same institute in 2016 and 2020 respectively. In 2023, his work “Mystic Metropolis Enigma II” won the gold medal at the 8th Chinese Painting Exhibition in Guangdong. His works have been collected and displayed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as by art institutions including the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Shenzhen Art Museum, the Fujian Art Museum, the Lingnan Museum of Fine Art, the Hengyang Art Museum, and the JIN Shangyi Art Foundation.

张利勇 ZHANG Liyong

张利勇，生于山东，毕业于中央美术学院中国画山水专业，于2010年、2015年、2019 年先后获得学士、硕士以及博士学位。中国美术家协会会员。

ZHANG Liyong was born in Shandong Province, and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, with a major in Chinese landscape painting, receiving his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees there in 2010, 2015, and 2019 respectively. He is a member of the Chinese Artists Association.

丘挺QIU Ting

中央美术学院教授、中国画学院院长；上海大学美术学院博士生导师；中国艺术研究院博士生导师。长期致力于中国画语言的探索与理论研究，注重各艺术门类的比较研究，尤其在水墨探索中与不同文化“对话”中寻找传统的开放边界。作品被波士顿美术馆、故宫博物院、中国美术馆等单位收藏。

Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Dean of the School of Chinese Painting; Doctoral Supervisor at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai University; Doctoral Supervisor at the Chinese National Academy of Arts. He has long been committed to the exploration of the language of Chinese painting and theoretical research, placing emphasis on comparative studies across various art forms. Particularly, in his explorations of ink painting and “dialogues” with different cultures, he seeks the open boundaries of tradition. His works are collected by institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Palace Museum, and the National Art Museum of China.

方土FANG Tu

1963年生于广东省惠来县，1986年毕业于广州美术学院中国画系，获学士学位。中国国家画院美术馆原馆长，现为中国国家画院院委，中国美术家协会理事，中国美术家协会中国画艺委会委员，广东省美术家协会名誉主席，广东省美术家协会中国画艺委会主任，广东省中国画学会执行会长，广州市美术家协会名誉主席，广州画院名誉院长。

Born in Huilai County, Guangdong Province in 1963. He graduated from the School of Chinese Painting of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1986, obtaining a bachelor’s degree. He was the former director of the Art Museum of China National Academy of Painting. Currently, he is a Committee member of China National Academy of Painting, a council member of the China Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association, the honorary chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, the director of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the Guangdong Artists Association, the executive president of the Chinese Painting Institute of Guangdong Province, and the honorary chairman of the Guangzhou Municipal Artists Association and the honorary president of the Guangzhou Painting Academy.

叶建强YE Jianqiang

笔名原均，广东连平人。师从丘挺先生，中国工笔画学会会员，李可染画院研究员，正高级工艺美术师，广东省工艺美术协会副会长，深圳市工艺美术行业协会副会长，深圳美术家协会理事。出版有《站在支点上的思考》《青山闲云——叶建强画集》等专著。曾长期服务于“中国文化产业第一展” 深圳文博会，被媒体誉为“文博会大掌柜”，获评“2018中国文化产业十大年度人物”荣誉称号。现任深圳报业集团运营总监。

Whose pseudonym is Yuanjun, hails from Lianping, Guangdong Province. He studied under Mr. QIU Ting. He is a member of the China Hue Art Association, a researcher at the Li Keran Academy of Painting, a senior-level arts and crafts master, vice president of the Guangdong Arts and Crafts Association, vice president of the Artcraft Shenzhen, and a director of the Shenzhen Artists Association. He has published monographs such as “Thoughts Standing on the Fulcrum” and “Green Mountains and Idle Clouds—YE Jianqiang’s Painting Collection”. He has long served in the “No. 1 Exhibition for China’s Cultural Industry”—China (Shenzhen) international cultural industry fair, and was praised by the media as the “General Manager of the cultural industry fair”. He was awarded the honorary title of “Top Ten Figures of China’s Cultural Industry in 2018”. Currently, he holds the position of the Operations Director of the Shenzhen Press Group.
